Responsibilities of the CNC Grinder:
Setting up and operating CNC profile grinder machinery to precise tolerances
Machining large, complex components
Performing profile grinding on internal and external gear teeth
Handling individual parts and batch production runs to meet quality standards
Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, K charts, and gear graphs
Mounting and balancing grinding wheels and managing machine setups with accurate documentation
Collaborating with the team to improve tooling and machining processes
Maintaining machinery through routine daily checks and participating in 5S improvement initiatives
Operating multiple machines as required and supporting effective shift handovers
Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety standards in a safety-critical environment
Requirements of the CNC Grinder:
Successful completion of an engineering apprenticeship
Proven experience operating CNC profile grinders, preferably with GER or Danobat machinery
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand gear profiles
Skilled in mounting, balancing grinding wheels, and precision measuring with micrometers
Experience in slinging and lifting heavy and large components
Strong attention to detail working within close tolerance environments

The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production machinery.
This includes working with hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, conveyors and other core mechanical systems.
You will ensure equipment runs efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting continuous production targets.
Skills and Experience
NVQ Level 3, BTEC Level 3 or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environment
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, shafts, bearings and conveyors
Ability to fault find and carry out repairs in a fast-paced production setting
Good awareness of health and safety standards in a manufacturing environment
Flexible, reliable and a strong team player

Duties
- Handle day-to-day financial tasks, including recording transactions and maintaining accurate accounts
- Process supplier and customer payments, monitor outstanding balances, and support credit control activities
- Manage payroll administration and ensure timely payments to staff
- Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow across multiple currencies
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with other statutory reporting as required
- Produce monthly and ad-hoc financial reports for leadership review
- Oversee general office operations, including managing contracts, utilities, and supplier relationships

Skills
- AAT Level 24 (or equivalent) qualification in bookkeeping or accounting
- Good understanding of VAT rules and general financial compliance requirements
- Proven experience in a similar finance or office management role, with strong knowledge of core bookkeeping practices
- Highly organised, with clear and professional communication skills
- Skilled in producing accurate financial reports and supporting wider financial planning
- Proficient in Excel, with experience in spreadsheets and basic financial modelling
