Were looking for a skilled Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering business in Ilkley that designs and builds bespoke industrial equipment used across the UK and overseas.
This is a hands-on Design Engineer role, ideal for someone who enjoys detailed 3D modelling, solving engineering challenges, and producing drawings that work in the real world.
As a Design Engineer, youll be:
- Producing 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings from concepts and specifications.
- Working closely with Project Engineers to deliver accurate, buildable designs.
- Liaising with manufacturing teams to make sure your Design Engineer work aligns with production capabilities.
- Completing bills of materials and maintaining tidy, consistent drawing packs.
- Visiting sites occasionally to survey equipment or troubleshoot design issues.
To be successful as a Design Engineer, youll need:
- HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 2 years experience as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD software).
- Good understanding of fabrication, sheet metal design, and mechanical assemblies.
- Clear communication skills and great attention to detail.
Bonus points if you have:
- A full UK driving licence and are happy to travel occasionally in the UK or abroad.
- A practical understanding of how things go together on the shop floor.

An experienced Field Sales Engineer is required to drive sales growth of custom and standard cable assembly solutions across the Midlands, working fully remotely with regular customer visits.
This role blends technical understanding of cable assemblies and interconnects with relationship-building, helping OEM, industrial and technology customers specify and implement the right solutions for their applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a territory sales plan to achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Identify, qualify and win new business for cable assemblies, wire harnesses and related interconnect products, while growing existing accounts through regular contact, visits and technical presentations.
- Understand customer design requirements and translate them into feasible cable assembly solutions, advising on connectors, harness layouts, shielding, materials and assembly methods.
- Work closely with design engineers to support prototype builds, design validation and postâsales technical support, including troubleshooting issues on customer sites.
- Monitor market and competitor activity, feeding back customer insights and product improvement ideas, and representing the business at trade shows, conferences and technical events.
What Youll Need
- Background in technical sales, field sales or technical account management, experience working within cable assemblies, wire harnesses, interconnect products or electronics manufacturing
- Strong technical understanding of cable assembly design, materials, connectors and manufacturing processes, with confidence reading drawings, specifications and schematics.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with a self-motivated, organised approach to managing a remote territory and pipeline.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Machine Operator starts, troubleshoots, and operates manufacturing equipment safely.
There are three Machine Operator levels (I, II, & III).
The level will be determined by experience, ability to assume various roles on the plant floor, and demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve machine issues resulting in efficient cycles and minimal downtime.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
Follow standard work procedures to operate and maintain assigned machine(s).
Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards.
Ensure product meets certain tolerances and specifications.
Perform routine inspections per quality standards.
Understand production instructions.
Maintain accurate paperwork.
Package, label, and store products.
Cross-train on other production functions as business needs dictate.
Clean and maintain the assigned area to ensure proper functionality.
Report and assist with resolving safety, quality, and mechanical issues.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
If appropriate, set up and operate various offline and secondary equipment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
No formal educational requirement.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
No prior work experience or training required.
Previous experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment requiring speed and dexterity is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
