Maintenance Technician Overview:
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to help our client keep their manufacturing machines running smoothly.
You will fix and improve our equipment to make sure production is as efficient as possible.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Fix machines to ensure they work well (95% up time target).
- Find out why machines break down and repair them quickly.
- Follow a schedule to maintain machines and make sure they are working properly.
- Ensure we have the right spare parts.
- Make changes to equipment to improve production.
Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- Experience in maintaining manufacturing machines.
- Good at finding and fixing mechanical and electrical problems.
- Able to read technical drawings.
- Computer literate (MS Office).
- A team player who is organised, reliable, and proactive.
- Ideally, a Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship or ONC/HNC in Engineering.
- At least three years of experience in a production environment.

- Strong knowledge of material selection, machining, fabrication techniques, and surface treatment processes for use in harsh environments.

We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance & Facilities team.
This is a hands-on role providing mechanical maintenance and electrical support across a busy manufacturing site.
You'll play a crucial part in maintaining equipment reliability, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting the operational efficiency of the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out maintenance and repairs to plant equipment and facilities to a high standard, identifying faults effectively.
Conduct daily machine and equipment checks, including statutory inspections within your skillset.
Provide out-of-hours call-in support as part of the shift team.
Proactively identify and report spares required for planned works.
Ensure compliance with all Safety, Environmental and Company procedures.
Demonstrate awareness of environmental responsibilities as set out in Company procedures.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Education
Mechanical or electrical qualification preferred
Apprenticeship desirable but not essential
Experience & Skills
Previous experience in a similar plant maintenance role
Strong mechanical/electrical background
Experience working at height
Knowledge of pipework (PVC), pumps and motors
Understanding of gas ovens, chillers, rectifiers (preferred)
Understanding of air handling units/air conditioning (preferred)
Personal Attributes
Able to follow written and verbal instructions clearly
Confident using tools and equipment safely
Able to work independently and remain calm under pressure
Professional in dealing with on-site contractors
