We are seeking an experienced Product Quality Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality, compliance, and reliability of end-to-end satellite communication systems.
This role covers product assurance across design, manufacturing, integration, testing, and launch phases, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
Based in London with a very good hybrid working arrangement (one day every month onsite), this will be a 6-month contract (extension likely).
The rate is negotiable dependant on experience (inside IR35).
What youll do:
- Lead programme-level product assurance activities across hardware, software, and systems.
- Develop and implement assurance plans in line with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ECSS standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and partners to ensure compliance and delivery.
- Oversee supplier quality, materials, processes, inspections, and audits.
- Drive risk management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What youll need:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (electronics, aerospace, mechanical/materials, or similar).
- 5+ years experience in product assurance on space projects (ESA, UKSA or similar).
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and ECSS standards.
- Experience working with and managing suppliers and vendors.
- UK or EU (27) Citizenship required.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Quality Co-Op will have the opportunity to learn, experience, and contribute to the operations of the polyurethane sealants and coating manufacturing process.
The Co-op will develop an understanding of the relationship between the manufacturing process and various support teams with a focus on safety, product quality testing, and process validation and improvement.
This position will spend a significant amount of time in the lab and on the plant floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist quality team in performing routine tests accurately and timely to determine if the products meet product specifications and approve product for shipping and filling.
Manage retain room filing and disposal.
Sustain lab 5S (QC lab and retain room).
Participate in product quality projects with root cause investigations and effective corrective actions with the goal of preventing customer complaints and reducing internal rework.
Lead small project for quality improvement through test, data collection, and analysis.
Other tasks and projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma required.
Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in good academic standing, pursing a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical focus preferred)
