Job Title: Concrete BatcherLocation: Uxbridge, West LondonSalary: £10.00 - £25.00 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm + Saturdays as required
The Role
We are recruiting for a Concrete Batcher / Ready-Mix Plant Operator to join a busy ready-mix concrete operation based in West London, with occasional cover at a sister site less than 10 miles away.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Concrete Batcher or somebody already working within ready-mix concrete, aggregates or a similar production/plant environment who has the right attitude and wants to progress into batching.
Previous batching experience is advantageous but isn't essential.
Training can be provided.
We're much more interested in finding somebody who is proactive, confident, switched-on and genuinely interested in understanding the production process than simply somebody who happens to have the right job title.
What You'll Be Doing
Working from the plant control room, you'll help control the production of ready-mix concrete using computerised batching systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing scheduled and booked concrete orders
Moving booked work through the production and batching process
Operating and monitoring computerised batching systems
Monitoring batches as they're produced to ensure the correct mix is being delivered
Making appropriate minor adjustments during production where required
Working closely with Shippers to coordinate production, deliveries and drivers
Communicating confidently with drivers regarding loads and production
Working alongside Concrete Technicians to ensure batches meet required quality standards
Carrying out appropriate quality checks on your own work
Monitoring production throughout the shift and identifying potential issues early
Maintaining accurate production information and records
Taking ownership of the quality and consistency of the product being produced
What We're Looking For
Direct ready-mix batching experience would be excellent, but it isn't the only background we'll consider.
You could currently be working as a:
Concrete Batcher
Batch Plant Operator
Ready-Mix Plant Operator
Concrete Plant Operator
Plant Operative
Production Operative
Process Operator
Loading Shovel Operator
Asphalt Plant Operative
Aggregates Plant Operative
If you already understand a production or construction-materials environment and have the aptitude and interest to learn concrete batching, training can be provided.
More important is that you are:
Proactive and willing to take responsibility
Confident communicating with drivers and colleagues
Comfortable working with computerised systems and multiple screens
Able to concentrate and monitor several pieces of information simultaneously
Quality-conscious and willing to check your own work
Comfortable making decisions rather than simply waiting for instruction
Interested in understanding how the plant and product actually work
Reliable and able to work effectively within a busy production environment
Hours & Package
£17.00 - £22.00 per hour depending on experience
Permanent PAYE position
Monday to Friday: 7:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday working may be required, 7:00am - 2:00pm
Full training available for candidates with relevant transferable experience
Apply
Whether you're already an experienced Concrete Batcher or you're currently working within ready-mix, aggregates, asphalt or another relevant plant environment and want to progress, we'd be interested in speaking with you.
Apply with your CV for a confidential discussion about the position.
