Responsibilities:
The summer intern would work under mentorship of a senior scientist to perform collaborative research and development of sealants with unique and differentiated properties.
This R&D work will include: Formulating raw materials into a functional product Analytical testing to understand raw materials, as well as formulated product properties Applications testing of formulated products for end-use performance prediction
Pay
$17 / hour.
Requirements
Major: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Polymer Engineering College classification (freshman, sophomore, junior or senior): Junior, or Senior Skills required to perform tasks: Preferred but not required: general lab skills (weighing materials on benchtop scale, transferring liquids/solids from one container to another, adherence to lab safety rules), some organic chemistry knowledge, adept with hands-on work, home cooking/baking experience is a plus! Synthetic Chemist - Battery Technology - Cambridge
A growing scientific technology house based in Cambridge are in the process of expansion and are actively looking to strengthen their in-house research team by bringing on a Synthetic Chemist to work on novel battery technologies.
As a Synthetic Chemist, you will be charged with developing the company's next generation energy storage materials.

Interact professionally and timely both verbally and in writing with customers and sales force.
Develop quality standards for raw materials and finished products.
Oversee all lab functions and personnel, assuring safety and integrity of those operations.
Test on raw materials and finished product as required.
Implement material cost saving plans where and when appropriate.
Participate in annual budget planning.
Assist in all compliance activities, especially Hazcom and maintaining SDS system.
Other projects/tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Degree in Quality, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, Polymer, or Business.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
2+ years' related experience.
Experience in Quality Programs (Lean, ISO, Six Sigma).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
ISO certification.

Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field with 5 years' experience of relevant experience A passion for chemistry, science, problem solving, and creativity. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills. A breadth of technical knowledge and a keen interest in learning from others. Possess innovation skills evident as risk taking, result seeking, and idea integration.
Hands-on bench experience with various chemistries (latex, moisture curing, reactive, etc.) in sealants, adhesives, coatings, repair or related field. Bench chemistry experience and familiarity with various analytical techniques: wet chemistry, titrations, microscopy, rheology, thermal analysis, tensile testing, etc. Experience operating lab scale mixing equipment as well as lab scale analytical and testing apparatus.
