Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join a busy manufacturing site operating on a fixed 4-on, 4-off shift pattern.
You'll be responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently through planned preventative maintenance, rapid breakdown response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production machinery and site services.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
Complete welding and fabrication work as required.
Perform first-line fault finding on electrical issues where appropriate.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS.
Complete maintenance documentation, handover reports and work orders.
Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety, Food Safety and quality standards.
Maintain high housekeeping standards within engineering workshops and production areas.
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximise equipment performance.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Experience in a mechanical maintenance engineering role within manufacturing, FMCG, food production or a similar industrial environment.
Strong fault-finding and repair skills on production machinery.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Desirable Skills:
Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems or packaging machinery.
Basic electrical fault-finding experience.
Experience using a CMMS.
Previous experience within food manufacturing or other high-volume production environments.

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary QA Technician / QA Auditor to support the Technical team at a leading food manufacturing site in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take on a hands-on role within a fast-paced factory environment.
The position is predominantly factory-floor based, where you will play a key role in maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine QA checks across the production process
Carry out GMP audits and pre-start checks
Perform label and CCP/quality checks
Support product traceability processes
Complete hygiene verification activities

About You
