GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Maintenance Technician supports and ensures the completion of day-to-day maintenance activities at the plant.
The position provides support to leadership for all maintenance staff to drive excellence and maximize effort.
The position focuses on maintaining high-quality standards through the efforts expended at the facility that meet and exceed customer expectations while maintaining a professional and equally efficient environment for all production employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform standard work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
Inspect and repair plant equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, welding, carpentry, electrical, instrumentation and controls to minimize downtime. Document accurate maintenance activity records.
Clean and maintain assigned areas and tools to ensure proper functionality.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
Report incidents, near misses, and any non-conformances through the appropriate channels.
Exemplify the expected values of organization including following policies and standard work procedures.
Give input on and coordinate maintenance supply purchases.
Perform Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure completion and accuracy.
Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Crosstrain on other production functions to aid as business need dictates.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma required. One-year certificate from college, technical school or manufacturing training program preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One to two years related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Forklift Licensepreferred.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Capable of installing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC; AC/DC drive motors preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot electric, air systems, and hydraulic systems. Knowledge of lockout/tagout, arc flash requirements, confined space entry and hot work permit.
Proven problem solver. Ability to work overtime as needed; ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond urgently to down equipment.

The Engineering, Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for directing all engineering activities and maintaining and upgrading the Site's facilities and production equipment.

Responsibilities also include developing and assisting in value stream design and implementation of lean principles and tools within the manufacturing environment.
This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with value stream mapping, employee training, continuous improvement event facilitation, waste identification and elimination, problem solving (through the scientific method), work area and station design and layout, visual control implementation, material flow, and progress tracking and communication.
Lastly, this resource acts as a passionate advocate for a cultural change toward lean thinking throughout the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with LEAN leadership in eliminating unplanned production interruptions. Use DAKOTA as the compliance tool to report incidents, near misses and non-conformances, and to maintain compliance with EH&S. Work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Prepare capital projects for submission to management.
Included are costs, schedule, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and needed procedures. Serve as lead project engineer for approved capital projects with the goal of on time and on budget completion. Develop and administer a viable and visual Preventative Maintenance Program that reduces downtime and improves overall reliability of production and production supporting machinery.
Responsible for identifying capital requirements for the facility's annual capital plan and budget. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes consistent with MOC procedures.
Recruit departmental employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Analyze annual site utility expenditure and develop plan to optimize plant efficiency to reduce costs (ISO 14001).
Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
Integrate the plant PHA initiative with the appropriate capital projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. Interface with leadership, operators, and maintenance to develop needed TPM programs. Support SPC, DOE's, and other Quality initiatives. Lead Engineer for the production processes. Develop facility infrastructure upgrade plan.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
B.S.
in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
At least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. 5-10 years of Facility and Process Engineering experience. Experience managing capital projects required. Experience is Engineering Management. PHA and "Process Safety Management" experience a positive.

The position is working with an internationally respected manufacturer who have multiple sites across the UK.Responsible for all Production activities when on site (safety, quality, output and budgeted costs).

When no other senior management on site (‘out of hours') acts as Site Duty Holder (H&S, security, maintenance etc).

Key responsibilities within Manufacturing Operations Manager position:
The strategic development of manufacturing operations across a number of manufacturing lines throughout the facility, taking the site through to World Class
The development and promotion of lean manufacturing techniques, such as 5s, VSM, TPM, etc, across manufacturing operations

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Previous experience within a senior level position, e.g.
Operations Manager, Operations Director, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Factory Manager, General Manager etc.
Leadership and people management skills with the ability to build, motivate, develop, and improve teams
Experience of taking manufacturing operations to World Class / Operational Excellence
Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, implementing continuous improvement tools and techniques, and problem-solving techniques
A seasoned manufacturing professional who understands the journey to WCM or Operational Excellence, who can work closely with key members of production and maintenance teams pushing where required, being robust with colleagues where necessary, leading from the front, but being prepared to be involved in the day-to-day activities of the shopfloor if this is necessary to achieve enhanced results.
IOSH or Nebosh qualified in Health and Safety

Responsibilities:
Work independently to initiate innovative and functional product designs and manage the design projects related to new product development across all Rust-Oleum product categories. Participate in research of internal and external voice of customer meetings, analyze customer needs and insights, and translate them into value-added design solutions. Design, prototype, and test product design to ensure quality, functionality, durability, manufacturability and correlate chemical and physical material to consumer application and use, cost, safety and environmental impact. Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure that the designs meet/exceed market/product needs, cost targets, and production requirements. Identify and select materials and components to meet design objectives. Identify, assess and select potential 3rd party design and /or manufacturing partners, and act as our project manager liaison with selected firm(s), travel to production facilities to evaluate processes and ensure compliance and quality to the standards. Develop and perform competitive assessments and analyses. Act as the "thought and team leader' for the business regarding product delivery system and packaging design. Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline. 5 or more years of hands-on experience in new product development and tooling design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems with proven track record of successful new product design and development, preferably in durable consumer markets. Experienced in plastic injection molding and plastic parts design. Proven leadership in managing new product development, start to finish. Extensive knowledge of product design, materials selection and manufacturing processes and direct experience working with a broad array of materials, preferably for consumer goods products. Excellent working knowledge of Computer Aided Design modelling concepts and software proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D part modeling, drawing, and assembly creation of the mechanical components. A passion for design, engineering, problem solving, with critical thinking and creativity. Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team from project concept through commercialization. Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills including good special acuity for design. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel as required.
