JOB DESCRIPTION
DAP is looking to hire a Product Development Scientist in R&D Department. As a R&D Scientist, you will perform experiments and generate general test data and analytical data with minimal guidance from senior R&D personnel while learning the basic principles of product development and formulation.
Participate in and help drive activities that improve the operation of the R&D function.
Collaborate with other R&D personnel and participate in cross-functional teams to help drive innovation.

Responsibilities:
Carry out assigned experimental plans for new product development, product modification, or technology development projects and perform basic analysis of experimental results with minimal guidance of senior R&D Personnel.
Develop and use basic formulation skills.
Display capability to problem-solve in R&D context, troubleshoot and optimize laboratory experiments.
Demonstrate the ability to operate analytical and material characterization equipment, generate high quality data, and organize the data for further in-depth analysis. Assist senior R&D Personnel to develop manufacturing procedures for new products and work collaboratively at plant trials with plant engineers and quality control managers.
Learn to apply basic process steps for Plant Trials. Use the principles of DAP Innovation Processes (Innovation Engineering, etc.) and R&D Management Processes in everyday work. Adhere to Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) practices and participate in QMS audits.
Assist in laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
Use Product Vision to manage data and projects.
Provide deliverables for projects in the Accolade project management system. Assist in providing technical support for marketing, sales, and customer support including planning/conducting product demonstrations for customers, trade shows, Etc.
Adhere to laboratory safety practices and participate in all safety and housekeeping initiatives.
Demonstrate the ability to assemble information for and generate effective written reports and oral presentations to communicate within R&D and with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field with 5 years' experience of relevant experience A passion for chemistry, science, problem solving, and creativity. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills. A breadth of technical knowledge and a keen interest in learning from others. Possess innovation skills evident as risk taking, result seeking, and idea integration.
Hands-on bench experience with various chemistries (latex, moisture curing, reactive, etc.) in sealants, adhesives, coatings, repair or related field. Bench chemistry experience and familiarity with various analytical techniques: wet chemistry, titrations, microscopy, rheology, thermal analysis, tensile testing, etc. Experience operating lab scale mixing equipment as well as lab scale analytical and testing apparatus.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Building Sciences team will participate in different projects with various scopes of work.
The Field Engineer is responsible for the organization, research, and documentation of cross-departmental assignments supporting the continued growth and operations of Pure Air Control Services, a Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc.
division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the Building Sciences Project Manager with test and balance research, consultation, operations policy generation, and quality issues.
Adjust systems controls to settings recommended by the vendor, conduct measurement tests, and discuss system malfunctions with system users to isolate the problems.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Coordinate with multi-disciplined teams, including sales personnel and field team, to develop a scope of work and estimate the cost of a project.
Organize material and complete reports according to pre-defined standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Evaluate current processes and develop innovative approaches for improvement. Write and develop in-house training materials supporting the staff and franchise partners.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Industry certificates are preferred but not required. Ability to obtain Engineer Intern certification preferred but not required. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The Kettle Operator is responsible for processing Tremco Sealants and/or Roofing products by carefully reading and following the process order card.
The operator is responsible for area readiness to produce which includes safety and collection and preparation of materials like pails, drums, and other chemical raw materials.
One batch is complete the operator will test for quality, adjust as needed to assure specification is met by following written standard operating procedures, and then fill product into specified packaging and palletize pails or drums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines using control boards, Human Machine Interface (HMI computer touch screen) or semi-automatic equipment.
Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and ensure that standards are met.
Use appropriate scales or measurement devices to add materials to the kettle as specified by batch process orders.
Must be able to read and understand recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify the conformity of process conditions.
Monitor control settings and make necessary adjustments on equipment.
Accurately record production and downtime via written documentation.
EXPERIENCE: No prior experience is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Basic Computer Skills required (Windows Familiarity).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect and repair plant equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, welding, carpentry, electrical, instrumentation and controls to minimize downtime.
Document accurate maintenance activity records.
Clean and maintain assigned areas and tools to ensure proper functionality.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
Report incidents, near misses, and any non-conformances through the appropriate channels. Exemplify the expected values of organization including following policies and standard work procedures. Give input on and coordinate maintenance supply purchases. Perform Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure completion and accuracy. Other projects and tasks as assigned. Cross-train on other production functions to aid as business need dictates.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
One-year certificate from college, technical school or manufacturing training program. One additional year of experience plus high school diploma/GED in lieu of higher education is acceptable. Two additional years of experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable.
