JOB DESCRIPTION
Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following: Monitor product quality to ensure compliance to standards and specifications. Develop an understanding with supervision of the fundamentals of coatings technology. Compile results of tests and analyses. Set up and conduct experiments, tests, and analyses using standard paint test procedures and physical and chemical techniques. Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials, and document all experimental results. Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams, and by conducting laboratory and plant safety audits. Prepare paint batches for products and following standardized formulas or create experimental formulas. Preform lab support activities which may include routine maintenance or upkeep of equipment and lab areas such as salt fogs, QUV'S, milling room, hot room, or controlled temp.

QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE
Chemistry - Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo.
This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. High school graduate or equivalent (GED) with a focus in the sciences, with chemistry and related sciences preferred.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Maintenance Technician supports and ensures the completion of day-to-day maintenance activities at the plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform standard work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
Inspect and repair plant equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, welding, carpentry, electrical, instrumentation and controls to minimize downtime.
Document accurate maintenance activity records.
Clean and maintain assigned areas and tools to ensure proper functionality.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
Report incidents, near misses, and any non-conformances through the appropriate channels.
Exemplify the expected values of organization including following policies and standard work procedures.
Give input on and coordinate maintenance supply purchases.
Perform Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure completion and accuracy.
Other projects and tasks assigned.
Crosstrain on other production functions to aid as business need dictates.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
One-year certificate from college, technical school or manufacturing training program.
One additional year of experience plus high school diploma/GED in lieu of higher education is acceptable.
Two additional years of experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
No prior experience or training.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in 480-volt 3 phase electricity required (Preferred in some locations)
Capable of installing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC; AC/DC drive motors preferred
Ability to troubleshoot electric, air systems, and hydraulic systems
Knowledge of lockout/tagout, arc flash requirements, confined space entry and hot work permit
Ability to work overtime as needed; ability to meet deadlines
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond urgently to down equipment
Effective team player, self-motivated, quick learner
Good communication skills with the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English

ð§ About the Role We are partnering with a prestige main dealership in the Romford area who are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their busy Service Department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance, service, and repair activities on a variety of motor vehicles to the highest standards
- Complete work effectively and within the manufacturers scheduled times to ensure efficiency
- Record detailed diagnosis, work completed, and components utilised according to group and manufacturer standards
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and quality in all service and repair tasks
ð Skills & Requirements: Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Minimum 2 years\' experience as a Vehicle Technician, preferably within a dealership environment
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics
- A valid UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience working in a prestige dealership setting

An Opportunity Has Arisen for a Field Service Technician (Door Security Systems) to join a well-established company specialising in the design, manufacturing, and installation of high-quality physical security and entrance-control solutions.
As a Field Service Technician, you will be providing expert service, maintenance, and repair of specialist security and access equipment across client sites.
This is an on-field role offering a salary range of £35,000 - £37,000 and benefits.
You will not be required to take part in on-call duties but expect to work overtime.
You Will Be Responsible For:
* You will act as the main contact for all technical service duties, covering upkeep, restoration, setup, and issue resolution.
* Carrying out planned maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems
* Maintaining accurate service records and job updates via mobile devices
* Managing van stock efficiently and ensuring all tools and materials are available for assigned work
* Ensuring work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards
* Supporting colleagues in the field when required
* Providing excellent service to customers and representing the company professionally at all times
What We Are Looking For:
* Previously worked as a Field Service Technician, Field Service Engineer, Field Engineer, Field Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Service Technician, Service Engineer, Installation Engineer, Automatic Door Engineer, Roller Shutter Engineer, Industrial Door Engineer, Door Engineer or in a similar role.
* Prior field service experience preferably in mechanical or electrical environment.
* Ideally have experience with roller shutters and automatic doors
* Skilled in diagnosing faults and carrying out equipment repairs
* Confident using tablets or mobile devices for job management
* Full UK driving licence
