Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:
Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, components and supplies for paint making & bulk material deliveries.
Interview Staff and oversee staff training.
Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
Develop and implement purchasing instructions, policies, and procedures.
Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers. Prepare plant schedule for filling, polymer, batch making and bulk deliveries.
Provide year end data for environmental permits, etc. post cycle counts & investigate discrepancies exceeding corporate standards. supervise & develop materials department staff. coordinate with corporate & plant personnel to achieve monthly volume requirements. Communicate with Supervisors, peers, or subordinates: provide information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person. Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality. Learn all manual tasks performed within the department. Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures, and following department specific quality control processes and procedures. Treat people with dignity and respect. Conduct all business with integrity. Adhere to Rust-Oleum Corporation Quality principles and participate in all departmental and company-wide Quality activities. Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Required Skills Bachelor's degree in business, Chemistry or Supply Chain. 5-10 years of management experience in manufacturing/chemical processing environment. Prior paint manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Ability to supervise/manage associates. Proven abilities to successfully drive continuous improvement, manage multiple priorities, and multitask. Ability to collaborate well with other peer groups. Maintain oversight of the EHS function at the Corsicana Chemical Manufacturing Plant to ensure EHS compliance and risk are evaluated and managed appropriately. Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline. 5 or more years of hands-on experience in new product development and tooling design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems with proven track record of successful new product design and development, preferably in durable consumer markets. Experienced in plastic injection molding and plastic parts design. Proven leadership in managing new product development, start to finish. Extensive knowledge of product design, materials selection and manufacturing processes and direct experience working with a broad array of materials, preferably for consumer goods products. Excellent working knowledge of Computer Aided Design modelling concepts and software proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D part modeling, drawing, and assembly creation of the mechanical components. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This role educates WTI personnel on proper product use and application, provides installation training on and off the roof, and oversees large self-performed projects from start to finish with intermittent inspections and post-completion inspections of smaller projects.
The QCS will perform regular job site visits during the project and after project completion.
The goal is to provide consistency across the country with proper roof repairs and application of our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure proper execution and delivery of all WTI GS and GC self-performed roofing work. Provide a variety of technical and application training sessions in the field and in a shop setting. Provide hands-on application training and supervision of roof coatings and installation. Attend pre-con's on large projects.
Be present at job start-ups to discuss the proper execution of the scope of work.
