Bradford Council is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children in Care Team.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will take the lead on complex cases, providing guidance to colleagues while working closely with foster carers, residential providers, and partner agencies.

Responsibilities
Manage a complex caseload, ensuring high-quality care planning and permanence for children.
Undertake statutory visits, assessments, and care reviews to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
Work in partnership with foster carers, residential placements, birth families, and multi-agency professionals to support children's emotional, educational, and physical development.
Provide mentorship and support to less experienced social workers within the team.
Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, Looked After Child (LAC) reviews, and permanency planning meetings.
Ensure all casework meets statutory requirements and best practice standards.
Requirements
Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Substantial post-qualification experience in Children in Care, Safeguarding, or Looked After Children teams.
Skills: Strong assessment, care planning, and risk management skills.
Knowledge: A thorough understanding of legislation, policies, and procedures relating to looked-after children and permanence planning.
Other Requirements: Ability to work flexibly in a hybrid model, attending the office for specific tasks and team meetings as required.

Registration with Social Care Wales.

Strong knowledge of The Children Act and other child care legislation and standards.
Experience in multi-agency collaboration.
