DAP is looking to hire R&D Intern for Summer 2025.
Responsibilities:
The summer intern would work under mentorship of a senior scientist / Supervisor to perform collaborative research for development adhesives or repair products with unique and differentiated properties.
The intern will work on Project is focused on moisture cure chemistry sealants. Will be evaluating a few promising raw materials from past studies for other properties.
Requirements
Major: Organic Chemistry Sophomore, Junior, or Senior. General lab skills (weighing materials on benchtop scale, transferring liquids/solids from one container to another, adherence to lab safety rules). Good time management. Data analysis.
Organized. Good communication skills. Likes to work with hands-on testing in a laboratory setting. Attention to details, inquisitive, good notes taker, desire to learn and grow.
Pay
$17 / hour.

Will involve making batches in mixing equipment and testing properties such as texture, density, viscosity and pH. Test specimen substrates also will be constructed according to ASTM specifications for performance testing of compounded sealants. Summarize results collected during the summer and present data/ analysis to R&D group. Actual project(s) at time of hire tbd.
Requirements

Requirements
Major: Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Sophomore, Junior, or Senior. General lab skills (weighing materials on benchtop scale, transferring liquids/solids from one container to another, adherence to lab safety rules). Formulating, mixing, ability to research test methods and raw materials.

The intern will work on Researching a hybrid sealant with class +100% and -50% elongation in various temperatures. The work will focus on using different polymers, silanes, and fillers.
