JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Diagnostic Services Manager oversees the strategic direction, operational execution, and quality assurance of diagnostic roofing services across North America.
This role ensures the delivery of best-in-class diagnostics, including infrared, nuclear, and visual inspections, while managing regional teams, training programs, and customer engagement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Strategy: Lead regional diagnostic teams to ensure consistent delivery of services across all major markets. Collaborate with Division Managers and Field Supervisors to optimize manpower utilization and profitability. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand diagnostic capabilities and coverage. Training & Development: Oversee onboarding and field training of new hires, including shadowing and certification in diagnostic tools and techniques. Maintain training standards in collaboration with corporate trainers and external partners (e.g., Infraspection Institute). Operations & Quality Control: Coordinate staffing and scheduling of diagnostic technicians across regions. Ensure proper documentation and quality control of all diagnostic jobs to meet customer satisfaction and compliance standards. Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding diagnostic issues. Communication & Reporting: Foster professional communication with customers, sales reps, field staff, and internal personnel. Review and manage key regional reports, including Toolbox Talks, Utilization Reports, and Truck Audits. Interface with Sales and Project Admins to gather scope of work details for scheduling and dispatching.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Level 1 Thermographer (Infraspection Institute or equivalent). Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) training. OSHA 10-Hour Certification. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a minimum of five to seven years progressively more responsible related work experience, with three to five years in a management role preferred.
Demonstrated experience in quality process improvement, troubleshooting, team development, training, and customer relations.
Prior product/market management experience and/or 3-5 years of experience in sales, marketing, R&D, technical service, or manufacturing, with strong direct customer contact.
A high level of independence in performance of the role and/or solution of problems is expected; however, demonstrated cooperation and collaboration are equally essential for successful functioning. Physical Requirements:
This position requires some physical activity including but not limited to standing/kneeling/walking/sitting on concrete for approximately 50% of workday.
This position could also require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day.
Lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to dust and chemicals including but not limited to: Amines, Polyamides, Isocyanates, Epoxies, Alkyds, Acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds.
Personal protective equipment would be utilized.
This position will require travel by air and/or car including nighttime and overnight up to 25% of the time.
Essential Functions:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal EH&S regulations including written programs, record keeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training.
Maintain compliance with environmental regulations (Title40CFR) including specifically, but not limited to:
Solid and Hazardous Waste management and disposal
Clean Air Act compliance
Clean Water Act compliance
Emergency Response
Pollution Prevention Planning and Control
Establish local EH&S goals and objectives along with the timely and accurate reporting mechanisms.
Coordinate the investigation of incidents (including near misses and losses) and accidents to determine root causes and assist in the development of corrective and preventive action plans.
Serve as the site liaison to local emergency response providers.
Develop and conduct environmental, safety and health training programs to ensure employee's knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Serve as Facility Security Officer to implement and maintain facility security requirements as required by the Department of Homeland Security.
Conduct EH&S reviews for new product development, facility modification, product manufacturing modifications and new equipment/machinery installations per the OSHA PSM standard.
Create and update compliance-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job hazard analysis (JHAs).
Administer and monitor industrial hygiene sampling and communicate exposure information and/or personal protective equipment requirements to employees.
Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
Maintain the health & safety statistics database.
Provide coaching and support to employees, supervision, and management to proactively address safety, health, and environmental risks and concerns.
Initiate or assist in efforts to continuously improve the overall working environment in the facility.
Provide technical assistance, training, and work direction to colleagues in other departments.
Analyze problems, identifying alternative solutions, and implementing recommendations in support of the Company safety goals and objectives.
Identify potential or actual areas of non-compliance through regular auditing and inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
Review and develop profiles for classification of hazardous waste.
Responsible for timely disposal of process waste and waste finished goods.
Provide support to the Corporate Director of EH&S.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Commit to the Company's safety and quality programs.

The Role of Contractor trainer and Technical Support
Deliver technical training and guidance to approved contractors and installers on EPDM membranes and liquid-applied waterproofing systems.
Carry out detailed roof surveys on both commercial and residential properties within the South East region.
Support the Southern Sales Team by preparing accurate quotations and providing technical input.
Provide on-site assistance during installations, ensuring best practice and compliance with specifications.
Act as a technical resource for contractors, offering expert advice to maintain high standards of quality and performance.
The Ideal Person for the Contractor trainer and Technical Support
Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems and waterproofing products, ideally including EPDM membranes and liquid-applied solutions, you may be looking to come off the tools.
Experience within the roofing or construction industry, with practical understanding of installation methods and best practice.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train, support, and build relationships with contractors and installers.
And work in conjunction with the External sales team.
Competent in carrying out roof surveys, producing accurate assessments/quotations, and providing practical on-site solutions.
Self-motivated, organised, IT literate, and able to work independently across the Southeast region (full UK driving licence required).
