JOB DESCRIPTION
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Installs, maintains, and repairs machines and equipment in plants and related facilities.
Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and related plant and facility equipment.
Reads, reviews, and applies blueprints, schematics, and operating manuals to fix, repair, and maintain equipment.
Performs a variety of maintenance requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding, and other skilled trades as appropriate or applicable.
Operates a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of parts, machines and equipment.
Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties.
Assists with inspecting the plant and related facilities for mechanical and equipment problems, reviews and examines areas, and determines appropriate action(s); assists with contractors and sub-contractors.
Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; will require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.

Starting pay rate of £13.32 per hour (£27,009 per annum), rising to £13.80 per hour (£27,986 per annum) following successful completion of probation

Responsibilities of the Workshop Operative
Applying fibreglass coating to modular buildings using rollers and other hand tools
Preparing surfaces and ensuring coatings are applied evenly and to a high standard
Working from drawings and specifications where required
Using a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Carrying out finishing and general workshop duties as required
Supporting the wider production team to meet delivery deadlines
Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company health & safety procedures
Requirements of the Workshop Operative
Previous experience in a practical, hands-on or trades environment
Background in painting and decorating, construction, joinery, finishing or a similar trade would be beneficial
Comfortable using hand tools and working with your hands
Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
Reliable and able to work effectively within a team
Willingness to learn new skills and work in a manufacturing environment
