About the service: The 30 bed service provides a safe and stabilising environment for men and women who are in crisis, we support individuals experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and requiring an emergency admission.
Service users may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act.
Our aim is to provide high quality holistic, MDT based care to assess, treat and plan discharge of patients to further treatment and care in the community, in their local areas as needed. Applicants must:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree (B.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
5 years related experience in manufacturing, process management, continuous improvement, analytics, project management, etc.
Experience with Value Stream Mapping, facilitating Kaizen events, implementing lean tools and processes such as: continuous flow, set up reduction, pull systems, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S practices.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:
You can expect to work on a variety of market leading deals in commercial property work including landlord and tenant, property management, sales and purchases, development and working as member of some of the firm's principal client account teams.
You will compete with market leading real estate teams pitching for the work you will be carrying out and negotiating against these firms on the transactions you work on.
You will act for some of the foremost investors, developers and occupiers including for example Realty, Aviva, Abrdn, CBRE GI, Columbia Threadneedle, British Land, Travelodge, Asda, Primark, Caddick, Harworth, Muse, Maple Group Developments, BP, National Grid, Network Rail and various Local Authorities.
Working closely with existing clients to maintain and develop relationships, acting as a trusted advisor capable of providing timely and quality advice whilst managing expectations.
Working collaboratively as a cohesive team, to execute large-scale, high-value, client matters to the highest standard.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
You will be a senior lawyer (ideally with circa 4-6years or more of relevant experience) with a demonstrated track record of leading on complex, commercial real estate matters seeking a new challenge within the transactional real estate space.
Have enthusiasm, resilience, and ambition to find solutions to clients' legal challenges and requirements.
Be experienced in engaging with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
Adopt a consultative and thorough approach to tasks.
Maintain efficient diary and task management across a range matters, ensuring the accuracy and levels of client service expected within a high performing team.
Be confident in drafting clear and legally effective documents, which reflect the client's instructions.

The role:
The successful applicant will handle a caseload of pre and post-litigated claims brought primarily under Sections 9a and 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
Focusing on all aspects of housing disrepair claims, you will handle cases from inception to conclusion, complying with the Pre Action-Protocol for Housing Conditions.
Key tasks:
- Run a caseload of pre- and post-litigation housing conditions claims on behalf of tenants
- Comply with Pre Action-Protocol for Housing Disrepair Claims
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Landlord & Tenant Act
- Draft Letters of Claim
- Collation of special damages
- Review housing records to assess liability
- Review surveyors reports Claimant and Defendant
- Negotiation and settlement
- Mediation
- Liaise with counsel
- Issue Court Proceedings
- Use Proclaim (claims management software) competently and effectively, ensuing that business process and policy is adhered to
- Communicate effectively with clients
- Liaise with and build positive and professional relationships across the business

The successful applicant:
Our team structure means that we can support applicants with varying degrees of prior experience and have successfully supported several staff who have re-trained from fast paced litigation backgrounds such as personal injury.
Successful candidates will be confident communicators with a high level of written and verbal skills and good attention to detail.
You must be well organised and able to work in a busy environment with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight timescales.
It is preferable that candidates be educated to degree level, and those applying for more senior fee earning roles may possess FILEX, ILEX qualifications or similar experience.
Experience:
- Housing Disrepair experience essential, we would also consider applicants with significant (10 years plus) contentious civil litigation experience
- Able to bill work at Grade B or above
- Case Management System (Proclaim is used) experience is a must to be able to handle volume litigation
- Demonstrable experience of being able to work at pace, with ability to manage competing priorities within own caseload
- Have experience of litigating own matters
- Highly organised and self-motivated.
