We are seeking an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to join our dedicated team, servicing and repairing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) across Norfolk and the surrounding areas.
Role Overview: As a Mobile HGV Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and safety of our fleet.
You will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance, repair, and diagnostic services to HGVs.
Your expertise in vehicle mechanics, coupled with your ability to work independently, will ensure that our fleet remains in top condition, minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety of our drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of HGVs to ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently.
- Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and rectify faults and issues with HGVs.
- Mobile Service: Travel across Norfolk and the surrounding areas to provide on-site maintenance and repair services, ensuring minimal disruption to fleet operations.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including DVSA requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including service reports, parts used, and any additional repairs required.
- Customer Interaction: Provide a high level of customer service, communicating effectively with clients and drivers to keep them informed of work progress and any issues identified.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment both on-site and while traveling.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as an HGV Technician, with a strong background in HGV maintenance and repair.
- Technical Skills: Excellent mechanical and diagnostic skills, with experience using the latest diagnostic equipment.
- Licensing: A valid Class 1 or Class 2 HGV drivers license is essential.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and manage your own workload, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel across Norfolk and surrounding areas to meet the demands of the role.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

The client is offering a full time, temporary contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a similar role with a local authority.
The Role You will have previous experience of working in a similar role and a relevant CoTC that covers both transfer of non-hazardous waste, and transfer of hazardous waste.
In this role you will be required to cover across all Recycling Sites within the Leicestershire area therefore being able to commute using own vehicle is key.Key duties will include;

Drafting of processes, monitoring and enforcing the Council's Quality Management System for processes at the RHWS
Effective and efficient stock control of consumables, PPE & Uniform, equipment and fuel
Driving from time to time a Council 3.5ton box van
Handling of intermediate complaints from customers face to face, by telephone and by email.
Full PPE will be provided for this position along with a Body Wear Camera, About you; Essential
Good IT skills and familiar with MS Office or equivalent packages
Good interpersonal skills
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Experience of dealing with customers
Experience in contract management, management of waste operations and in the supervision and management of employees in the waste management industry or similar workplace.
Experience of delivering training packages
Valid UK drivers' license for driving up to a 3.5 ton vehicle, access to own vehicle and insurance to cover business use.
(Mileage will be claimable in line with the councils policies).
Desirable
Have a valid and relevant Certificate of Technical Competence with the appropriate evidence of continued competence
Experience of driving a vehicle up to 3.5 ton

Service Care Solutions have an exciting vacancy for a Waste Recycling/Plant Operative to join a local authority working out of LoughboroughThis is a role where flexibility will be important between Loughborough and as and when required, with other sites in the area.
This will be an ongoing temporary role initially for 3 months with the opportunity to be extended further.The core purpose of the role will be to oversee the acceptance of waste into the Waste Recycling Centre, appropriate segregation and sorting of bulk waste ready for onward transport to treatment destinations and regularly operating plant machinery including loading shovels.We are seeking candidates who have experience of using plant machinery including loading shovels/telehandlers/forklift trucks and other trucks relevant to the role.Other key duties will include but not be limited to;
To assist and help maximise and improve the segregation of recyclables on the site including picking and sorting of waste from trade customers.
To ensure that all waste entering the site is verified as being in accordance with the relevant site permit.
To assist in the traffic management on site, including vehicles entering and exiting the site when moving or exchanging waste containers.
To undertake cleaning and oversee maintenance of all the site's mobile plant.
To undertake inspections in line with agreed timescales.
To ensure the site's opening and closing times are adhered to at all times according to the relevant site permit and Council operating procedures.
To complete all regulatory and statutory paperwork as advised by your line manager within the time required.
For this role, we are seeking a Driver as this role will involve working between multiple sites therefore being accessible in a timely manner is imperative.
