Job Title: Vertical Borer Setter Operator
Location: Halesowen
Pay Rates: £16.58 per hour including shift allowance
Shift Patterns: 06:00-14:00 & 14:00 - 22:00 Rotating shifts
Oliver Rae is recruiting for an experienced Vertical Borer Setter within the manufacturing and engineering industry.
Our client supplies high quality engineered products to the oil and gas, aerospace, rail and nuclear industries.
Responsibilities:
Setting and operating Webster Bennetts / Berthiez vertical boring machines
Programming using Siemens controls
Overhead crane operating
Use of measuring equipment
Deburring components for transportation
Adhering to health and safety regulations
Qualification/experience:
Experienced in setting and operating Vertical Boring machines.

Are you a skilled Manual Machinist with experience working on manual millers, lathes/turners, vertical borers or horizontal borers? Are you confident working from engineering drawings? Would you like to work for a family-owned business that is growing?
Our client is a leading engineering manufacturer that works with a wide range of metal materials.
They are looking for a new Manual Machinist to join their growing team.
Commutable from Nottingham, Ilkeston, Mansfield, Long Eaton and Derby.
The Role of Manual Machinist:
- Set up and operate a variety of manual machine tools to produce precision parts
- Working with machines including manual millers, manual lathes, manual turners, vertical borers or horizontal borers
- Working from drawings
- Working to tight tolerances
- Quality checking parts using various hand tools
- Maintaining machinery
- Working independently and as part of a team
Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
- Experience operating manual milling, manual lathes, manual turning, vertical boring or horizontal boring
- Ability to work from engineering drawings
- Able to quality check own parts
- Keen to learn new skills and develop
- Motivated and excellent team player
- Able to commute to the NG16 area
The Package - Manual Machinist:
- Starting salary up to £29k depending on experience
- 7.45am to 5pm Mon-Thus, with a 12.45pm early finish on Fridays
- 22 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays
