Are you a mechanically biased Machine Tool Engineer with service and repair experience on CNC machines with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls?
Our established client specialises in the repair and servicing of a wide range of CNC engineering machinery.
They work with a wide range of equipment and are looking for a Machine Tool Service Engineer to join their small but growing team.
Current job titles could include: Service Engineer, CNC Service Engineer, Machine Tool Engineer, CNC Maintenance or Machine Tool Maintenance.
Duties Include - Machine Tool Technician/Service Engineer:
- Fault finding on a wide range of CNC machinery
- Mostly dealing with service and breakdowns
- Some installation work (training can be provided)
- Working on servo motors, linear rails, ball screws, spindles
- Customer-facing role
- The majority of travel to client sites is within the Midlands and South Yorkshire area
Key Skills / Experience Required - Machine Tool Field Service Engineer:
- Travelling to customer sites throughout the UK.
- Able to fault find, repair and service metal cutting CNC machinery eg.
Lathes, Mills, Borers, Grinders etc
- Mechanical bias but with a good electrical understanding - e.g able to isolate a machine, disconnect a motor, change a switch (training can be provided)
- Experience/competence with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls
- Hands-on mechanical skills e.g stripping and building machinery
- Able to use and apply experience in adapting to new machinery
- Happy to travel nationwide and internationally (for training)
The Package - CNC Service Engineer:
- Starting salary £40k-£50k per annum, depending on skill level and experience

The Role - Machine Tool Fitter:
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC and Manual metal cutting machines to keep them running smoothly.
- Fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems in the workshop or at customer sites.
- Replace faulty parts (motors, gears, belts, electrical components)
- Install/ fit new parts.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify and fix issues.
- Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting and on-site help.
- Offer advice on machine performance, efficiency, and upgrades.
- Work with clients to ensure machines meet their needs and provide high-quality service.
- Keep detailed records of service visits, repairs, and maintenance.
- Write reports for customers on work completed, parts replaced, and machine performance.
- Follow safety rules and industry standards during maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure machines meet safety standards and run efficiently to avoid breakdowns and accidents.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing support and advice.
Key Candidate Requirements - Machine Tool Fitter:
- CNC service, breakdown or maintenance experience
- Experience stripping down gearboxes, spindles, and/or cross-lighting machines
- CNC machine tools/metal cutting experience
- BTEC Level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent time-served experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and machine tools.

About the role:
This role is part of the paint line team however will be slightly excluded from the rest of the team, they are responsible for ensuring all PPC coverage is to the highest standard using automated and manual paint guns.
There is some aspect of manufacturing in this role so must be willing to work on production machines as well
Powder Coater/ Paintline operative duties will include:
· Use a hand gun to cover any unpainted / touch ups needed products.
· Recording powder usage.
· Prepping powder drums ready to be used.
· Cleaning down of used powder drums.
· Cleaning down of spray booth and all pipes and hoppers.
The Successful powder coater must be:
· This person must be hardworking punctual individual.
· They must be able to work as part of a team and just as well on their own.
· It is important that they have experience within the powder coating industry.
· This candidate must be a quick-thinking individual with exceptional reading skills.

The Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Up to £55k DOE
My Client are opening a brand new site in Warwickshire and are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the design of machinery and equipment including mechanical systems, thermofluids, hydraulics and structural components
The Company

Key Responsibilities
- Design of machinery and equipment including mechanical systems, thermofluids, hydraulics and structural components.
- Carrying out engineering calculations, component sizing and selection & machine design
- Mechanical design of all test systems including CAD drawings, BOM, schematics and supporting documentation
- Involved directly with concept definition, system design, component selection, testing, verification, and validation of prototypes and final products.
- Implementation of various design standards and practices including adherence to ISO9001 and CE marking to achieve type certification
- Identifying, evaluating and managing manufacturing partners and suppliers both in Europe and worldwide
- Preparation of technical manuals and reports
- Technical support and guidance to other team members.
Participating in design meetings and disseminating progress to team members and management
- Supporting workshop production and build/assembly of large prototypes as required
The Right Person
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, as well as possessing the following key skills:
- 5+ years relevant industrial experience in mechanical design of machines, systems, engines, heat pumps or similar
- Automotive and/or heavy engineering industry experience
- Preferably hydraulic systems design experience
- Practical / Hands-on experience
- Solidworks experience required.
PDM an advantage, but not essential
