The Commercial Façade Field Technician actively performs and enforces Company safety policy and program to minimize accidents affecting employees, the public, and property.
They will be responsible for attending safety meetings, complying with governmental regulations, reporting, and investigating accidents, and planning site-specific job safety procedures including:
$21-38/hour (not including prevailing wage)

Position Duties & Responsibilities:
Attend and understand daily onsite safety brief prior to the start of the WTI project.
Inspect and ensure safety of surroundings, equipment and tools and identify and discuss any safety concerns.
Execution of project tasks with knowledge of expected production rates, ensuring tools and materials are used safely and efficiently to complete the assigned project. Complete the project per the scope or work, design and specification of contract & engineering documents as directed by foreman.
Responsible to aid foreman in tracking and monitoring project inventory. Maintains highest quality on-site customer relations in projecting positive image. Has knowledge/understanding and performs work in compliance with all governmental rules and regulations affecting work sites and employees, i.e.
OSHA, DOT, EEO/Affirmative Action, EPA, etc. Provides management with earliest possible notification of real and potential job problems. Accepts responsibility for the care, custody, and use of company equipment, material, tools, and other assets as assigned by the WTI Commercial Foreman. Understands and executes proper material and equipment usage, maintenance, and storage. Perform any other duty and/or project as required or assigned by the WTI Foreman and/or Commercial Business Manager. Maintains ethical business conduct.

Position Summary:
Carboline is seeking a Technician at our Research Facility in St.
Louis, MO.
This person will assist the Research and Development laboratory group in developing, modifying and evaluating corrosion resistant protective coatings, linings, fireproofing, etc.
The ideal candidate will be able to perform routine lab projects, do quality control testing, grade test panels, perform paint calculations and maintain lab book notes under the guidance of a supervisor.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent, 1-year college Chemistry or 1-3 years Lab experience.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to chemicals including but not limited to: Amines, Polyamides, Isocyanates, Epoxies, Alkyds, Acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds.
Personal protective equipment would be utilized.
Must pass annual respirator medical evaluation and pulmonary function test as required by OSHA.
Essential Functions:
Use laboratory instruments and equipment and follow established testing procedures. Enter organized, neat, and accurate entries into laboratory notebooks. Grade test panels according to established procedures. Gather information or data in reference to trouble reports. Be familiar with routine laboratory computer functions such as report writing, formula calculations, graphics programs and inventory searching, specific for individual laboratory areas. Write project reports in cooperation with supervisor. Be familiar with the location, use and understand Material Safety Data Sheets with respect to raw materials and finished goods. Understand and comply with safety procedures and practices in effect. Learn how to apply coatings by spray, roller and brush. Possess interpersonal skills necessary to interface, in a positive manner, with peers, supervisors, and other departments. Be able to manufacture, and evaluate quality control tests of, lab scale batches of paint according to prescribed formulas. Additional duties and responsibilities as specified by supervisors. Take an active role in hazard recognition and injury prevention by following all safety rules & regulations and immediately reporting all injuries and incidents to your supervisor. Follow all environmental rules and regulations to ensure hazardous materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner. This includes working with the plant operational teams on providing training, writing appropriate standard operating procedures, and maintenance training plans & parts. Design to incorporate Lean principles to improve reliability, ease of use & maintenance, minimize changeover times, and to minimize production losses.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires some physical activity including but not limited to standing/kneeling/walking/sitting on concrete for approximately 50% of work day.
This position could also require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day.
Lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to dust and chemicals including but not limited to: Amines, Polyamides, Isocyanates, Epoxies, Alkyds, Acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds.
Personal protective equipment would be utilized. This position will require travel by air and/or car including nighttime and overnight up to 25% of the time.
Essential Functions:
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal EH&S regulations including written programs, record keeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training. • Establish local EH&S goals and objectives along with the timely and accurate reporting mechanisms. • Coordinate the investigation of incidents (including near misses and losses) and accidents to determine root causes and assists in the development of corrective and preventive action plans. • Serve as the site liaison to local emergency response providers. • Develop and conduct environmental, safety and health training programs to ensure employee's knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety and environmental regulations. • Serve as Facility Security Officer to implement and maintain facility security requirements as required by the Department of Homeland Security. • Conduct EH&S reviews for new product development, facility modification, product manufacturing modifications and new equipment/machinery installations per the OSHA PSM standard. • Create and update compliance-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job hazard analysis (JHAs). • Administer and monitor industrial hygiene sampling and communicate exposure information and/or personal protective equipment requirements to employees. • Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics. • Maintain the health & safety statistics database • Provide coaching and support to employees, supervision, and management to proactively address safety, health, and environmental risks and concerns, • Initiate or assist in efforts to continuously improve the overall working environment in the facility. • Provide technical assistance, training and work direction to colleagues in other departments. • Analyze problems, identifying alternative solutions, and implementing recommendations in support of the Company safety goals and objectives. • Identify potential or actual areas of non-compliance through regular auditing and inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken. • Review and develop profiles for classification of hazardous waste. • Responsible for timely disposal of process waste and waste finished goods. • Provide support to the Corporate Director of EH&S. • Perform other duties as needed to support the overall mission of the facility and the company.

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The primary result expected from the Floating Night Shift Supervisor is to supervise the people at the facility and ensure the safe manufacture of products.
This is done by organizing and executing the shift production work schedule (as dictated via the production plan), to maintain a safe, efficient and organized working environment, and to provide leadership/guidance to all shift personnel.
This person will work in conjunction with both the 2nd shift and 3rd shift supervisors, when they are present and also cover either 2nd or 3rd shift, as needed when the supervisors are on vacation or call off sick.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensures that all plant operations adhere to DayGlo business and RPM corporate EH&S requirements, procedures, reporting and programs. Direct and coordinate the activities of all employees on the shift, in all departments. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
Ensure the planning and scheduling of orders for plant production to maximize use of manpower and fulfill customer service requirements. Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between plants. Confer with management and others to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances. Interpret specifications, work orders, and company policies and procedures for employees. Gathers information, completes, and distributes end of shift reports.
Enforce work rules and administer discipline as required. Apply MS-168/Continuous Improvement principles to all aspects of the manufacturing process to drive improvement in production efficiency, product quality, and employee engagement. Ensure effective MS-168 Tier 1 meetings across departments. Ensure all departments are maintained in a clean, orderly and efficient fashion through utilization of 5S principles.
Train, motivate, and manage the hourly production staff within the manufacturing process.
Oversee performance skills matrix updates, initiates commendations, improvement plans and disciplinary action, as required. Work with/coordinates efforts between Quality Control, Engineering, R&D, and Maintenance departments for continual improvement of production efficiency and quality.
Prepares and maintains accurate data reporting and analysis, as required, and provides management with appropriate information.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
3 - 5 years departmental/plant experience in a Chemical manufacturing environment, preferably with liquid tint dispersions.
Must be a role model from an EH&S standpoint.
Must possess proper supervisory skills to ensure all direct reports and efficiently together to achieve business goals.
Must possess an ability to solve problems and work effectively to motivate/influence people.
