Position Summary:
Carboline is seeking a Technician I at our Research Facility in St.
Louis, MO.
This person will assist the Research and Development laboratory group in developing, modifying and evaluating corrosion resistant protective coatings, linings, fireproofing, etc.
They will report directly to a Technician Lead or Lab Manager.
The ideal candidate will be able to perform routine lab projects, do quality control testing, grade test panels, perform paint calculations and maintain lab book notes under the guidance of a supervisor.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent, 1-year college Chemistry or 1-3 years Lab experience.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to chemicals including but not limited to: Amines, Polyamides, Isocyanates, Epoxies, Alkyds, Acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds.
Personal protective equipment would be utilized.
Must pass annual respirator medical evaluation and pulmonary function test as required by OSHA.
Essential Functions:
Use laboratory instruments and equipment and follow established testing procedures. Enter organized, neat, and accurate entries into laboratory notebooks. Grade test panels according to established procedures. Gather information or data in reference to trouble reports. Be familiar with routine laboratory computer functions such as report writing, formula calculations, graphics programs and inventory searching, specific for individual laboratory areas. Write project reports in cooperation with supervisor. Be familiar with the location, use and understand Material Safety Data Sheets with respect to raw materials and finished goods. Understand and comply with safety procedures and practices in effect. Learn how to apply coatings by spray, roller and brush. Possess interpersonal skills necessary to interface, in a positive manner, with peers, supervisors, and other departments. Be able to manufacture, and evaluate quality control tests of, lab scale batches of paint according to prescribed formulas. Additional duties and responsibilities as specified by supervisors. Take an active role in hazard recognition and injury prevention by following all safety rules & regulations and immediately reporting all injuries and incidents to your supervisor. Follow all environmental rules and regulations to ensure hazardous materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner. Receives annual training in RCRA Hazardous Waste and Carboline's Contingency Plan and will adhere to this training while performing their job. Committed to the Company's safety and quality programs.

The Senior Retail Marketing Communication Specialist's goal is to support a retail program that includes utilizing consumer insights in brand positioning, brand marketing , and packaging copy and design.
You will be working closely with the Senior Program Manager - Retail Program, National Sales Manager - Retail Program, Tremco CPG and Consumer Group team members, and retail partners on marketing collateral, digital content, product packaging, POP materials, planograms, social media, local marketing, and leveraging the retailers' own marketing package offerings. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Our Dryvit Engineering Intern will work in conjunction with the Plant Manager, EHS Manager and others to support safety, quality, maintenance, and production processes while learning and utilizing our established process tools such as Process Safety Management, Behavioral Risk Improvement and Lean tools including 5S, A3 Problem Solving, Statistical Process Control and Value Stream Mapping and familiarizing themselves with plant SIOP and the implications of forecasting in a seasonal manufacturing cycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leading small projects for improvement of a process or output.
Collecting data for process waste reduction and presenting solutions for improvement. Participating in facility audits and Gemba walks. Preparing Root Cause Analysis reports for incidents as assigned. Assisting in project management of multi-phase projects. Editing or creating piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
Driving continuous improvement processes. Generating MPST projects to drive cost savings and improve efficiency. Working alongside plant leadership to identify, document and execute capital expense projects.
Conducting and/or participating in meetings, communicating information or collaborating on site-specific projects.
Learning and understanding our MS168 process. Interacting with plant staff and senior leaders as part of the daily, weekly, monthly tier meeting cadence.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Students pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering at an accredited college or university.
Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior in good academic standing.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
No prior experience is necessary, requires the propensity for learning, openness to training and a continuous improvement mindset.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in MS Tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
SAP experience is preferred but not mandatory.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.
