I am hiring for a Building Maintenance Engineer to provide a building services support service at the main London Borough Hounslow Office
You will be working under the general direction of the Building Services Engineer to cover planned and preventative maintenance to ensure that LBH maintains and operates the fabric infrastructure and life safety systems of the building in a safe and reliable manner.
This is a full-time role (36 hours per week) working weekdays, although you may be asked to help in the evenings/weekends if necessary to cover absences and special events.
Typical Day to Day Duties.
To undertake inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety equipment and building fabric.
Maintain formal logs for review by FM and H&S staff and escalate concerns immediately.
Provide a responsive support service to Facilities Officers and FM staff and undertake reactive tasks; collaborate to ensure LBH staff receive a high-quality service and service interruptions are minimised.
Diagnose issues in building services, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions promptly.
Respond to urgent maintenance requests and provide timely resolutions during critical situations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, and inventory.
The top things about you that are most important:
Hands-on experience of repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting and building fabric works.
Experience of maintenance practise in a similar large building and an ability to recognise and diagnose likely areas of weakness and equipment failure.
Hands-on experience of inspecting and operating fire safety systems and the ability to accurately check operational status and involve technical staff.
Knowledge of systems such as HVAC, CAFM, Dali, BMS, and fire safety.
Experience of working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments involving a range of different teams and frequent conflicting demands for support.
Experience of working on own initiative and prioritisation of work to meet deadlines in a busy office environment.
Evidenced ability to plan, organise/prioritise own workload and provide cover for team colleagues when required
Qualifications:
Proven experience in maintaining and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building fabric
C&G/NVQ in Mechanical/Electrical.
Level 3
A knowledge of current health and safety and fire safety regulations/legislation.
