Our Uncrewed Service Vessel (USV) team will work predominantly from our new remote operations centre and support diverse project work.
The Role
We are seeking an Operations Manager who will coordinate and manage survey operations that are carried out from our expanding fleet of USV's in Europe.
You will ensure operational success and implement efficient working procedures.
A key element of this role is to implement an operational structure which facilitates efficient and safe remote operations.
You will be responsible for recruitment, crewing, vessel and equipment uptime, project mobilisations and operational logistics.
A diverse team of engineers, mariners, ROV pilots and surveyors will report into you for leadership and project management.
A good understanding of subsea operations and survey related projects is essential.
As well day to day leadership and engagement across the Fugro business, you will manage programmes of work, ensuring tasks are delegated effectively and a clear project delivery methodology is implemented and in place.
The USV service line is rapidly growing in Europe.
The pipeline for the delivery of new vessels is aggressive and the technology is constantly evolving.
Another key responsibility is to forward plan for new vessel roll outs and technology upgrades.
Developing an understanding of the performance of the USV on project and the operational team's performance during mobilisation will provide insights to track operational success, learn lessons and implement changes.
You will work in a range of markets including offshore wind, oil and gas and subsea cables.
The role will be based from our Aberdeen offices where the ROC is collocated.
From time to time travel will be required to project sites and client offices to support kick offs and site visits.
Who we're looking for:
Previous experience of working as one (or more) of: Technical Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, ROV Superintendent, survey Party Chief or another project and business unit leadership related role in the subsea or survey space.
Nationally recognised technical or trade qualification and / or appropriate level national vocational qualification in one or more of the following subjects: electrical, electronics, computing, mechanics.

The Role
We are seeking technicians who will be responsible for the technical uptime of our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROVs) and USV's within the European and African region.
You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations, equipment maintenance and technical fault finding.
Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey.
Travel to project sites will be required for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and servicing of the vessel itself ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables.

The role:
As an (Offshore) Driller your core role will be to undertake drilling operations using Fugro's specialized marine drilling equipment.
The driller is responsible for determining the optimal drilling parameters required to drill investigative bore holes safely and efficiently to determine soil characteristics.
The driller is responsible for choosing suitable equipment, running and monitoring the drill, and enforcing safety procedures.

The Driller is responsible for positioning the drill bit accurately and safely at various depths to allow in situ testing, logging, and sample recovery.
Who we're looking for:
As a Driller, you will have a strong understanding and experience from the Marine or a similar industry (Mechanical, Land drilling, Heavy Plant Industry).
You are required to be flexible, willing to travel and to stay away from home for prolonged periods, including working over weekends and night shifts.
You will need to show resilience and proven experience of working in a variety of outdoor elements, this role will be demanding, carrying out activities like operating Fugro's marine drilling equipment in a variety of outdoor weather conditions and ensuring safe working conditions on deck.
Fluent in the English Language, with strong communication skills.

Fugro are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to be based at our waterfront office at Portchester, Hampshire.
The department specialises in offshore geophysical seabed and sub-seabed surveying for the renewables, unexploded ordnance (UXO), nearshore and utilities sectors across north-west Europe.
As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems within the Geophysical Department.
The role will include mobilising and commissioning the systems onto survey vessels and supporting ongoing operations of the equipment.
Tasks will include managing LOLER and calibration schedules of equipment, keeping repair logs, troubleshooting, repair and maintaining geophysical equipment on site and in the workshop as well as travelling to vessels to install, maintain and repair equipment.

Communicating with suppliers and test centres to organise spares, repairs and testing.
Managing associated administrative tasks.
Who we're looking for:
Essential
5+ GCSEs and 2+ A-levels or equivalent level qualification.
Mechanical and/or Electrical skills and knowledge.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills along with the ability to fault find, test, repair and interrogate geophysical systems.
Able to work flexible hours and to travel when required.
Previous experience in a similar role.
Good knowledge of English language, verbal and written.
Proficient in use of MS Office applications.
Desirable
Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic winch motors and motor control systems.

Our Metocean Measurements team based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire is now seeking an Instrumentation Engineer.
The team specialise in monitoring, measuring and providing advice on nearshore, shallow water physical oceanography, predominantly for coastal infrastructure projects and offshore renewables in Europe and Africa.

The role of a Senior Oceanographic Engineer is varied and offers the opportunity to work on projects for offshore wind farms, renewable energy, and oil & gas.
This position will suit experienced Senior Oceanographic Engineers looking for a more varied career.
The projects range from one or two days to longer trips of up to four weeks with the potential to work all over the world.
Our engineers are involved in a mixture of offshore and coastal vessels, drilling platforms and onshore installations.

It is essential that you have previous experience in a similar role.
Previous offshore experience on a variety of Metocean projects (or similar type work) and willing to work offshore for approximately 2 to 3 weeks at a time, within UK, Europe and Africa.
Experience using Metocean equipment (or similar) and proficient in the setup and operation of commonly used sensors.
Understand the principles of real-time data, data acquisition and data QC and are proficient in the use of software.
Good at problem solving, enjoy tackling technical challenges.
The ability to work to strict deadlines within short notice changes.
A systematic and methodical approach with a fine attention to detail.
A can-do attitude and good communication and language skills in English (reading, written and spoken).
Full driving licence.

The role
As a Metocean Service Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of marine surveys to include Metocean field engineering activities, contributing to high HSE standards, maintenance, testing and preparation of Metocean equipment, deployment and recovery of Metocean equipment and offshore client liaison.
The role of a Metocean Service Engineer is varied and offers the opportunity to work on projects for offshore wind farms, renewable energy and oil & gas.
This position will suit experienced Metocean Service Engineers looking for a more varied career.
The projects range from one or two days to longer trips of up to four weeks with the potential to work all over the world.
Our engineers are involved in a mixture of offshore and coastal vessels, drilling platforms and onshore installations.
As no two projects are the same, you will need to be resourceful and flexible and enjoy working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Additionally, you will also be asked to add your experience to project planning.
Who we're looking for:
Essential
It is essential that you have previous experience in a similar role.
Previous offshore experience on a variety of Metocean projects (or similar type work) and willing to work offshore for approximately 2 to 3 weeks at a time, within UK, Europe and Africa.
Experience using Metocean equipment (or similar) and proficient in the setup and operation of commonly used sensors.
Understand the principles of real-time data, data acquisition and data QC and are proficient in the use of software.
Good at problem solving, enjoy tackling technical challenges.
The ability to work to strict deadlines within short notice changes.
A systematic and methodical approach with a fine attention to detail.
A can-do attitude and good communication and language skills in English (reading, written and spoken).
Full driving licence.
Desirable
BSc degree or above in oceanography, science, instrumentation, engineering, electrical or mechanical.
Please note, you will need to pass an Offshore Medical prior to employment.
