Multi-Skilled Manual Machinist Turner / Miller with experience of working to very tight tolerances required for a permanent position in the Tamworth area for an established, world leading company manufacturing gauges and gears.

Salary is £29,000 - £36,000 (DoE) + O/T + excellent benefits (see below).

The ideal Multi-Skilled Manual Turner / Miller will also have CNC Turning and Milling experience (desirable) and will be working circa 37.5 hours (Mon - Fri days, flexi start time between 6:30am - 8am)

  • 5 hours week (Mon - Fri days, flexible work pattern, can start between 6:30am - 8am)

  • 5x Midweek overtime & Sat Hrs, 2x Sun Hrs

The successful Multi Skilled Manual Turner / Miller day to day duties will include:



  • Turning and milling of precision parts, gauges and master gears of which the majority are one offs.

  • Set / operate manual lathes.

  • If CNC competent, programme (online), set and operate Fanuc / Mazatrol controlled CNC Turning & Milling machines.

  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy of components.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the machining process.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.

  • Ensure production issues are resolved quickly, efficiently and production KPI's are met.

  • Comply with company H&S guidelines.



To be suitable for this Multi Skilled Turner / Miller role you must have the following experience / characteristics:



  • Ideally completed a relevant machining, toolmaker or engineering apprenticeship.

  • Must have recent experience of manual milling and turning tight tolerances

  • Able to use standard manual measuring devices such as verniers, DTI's, calipers, micrometers, plain plug, screw and ring gauges, gauge blocks and bespoke gauges/fixtures.

  • Must be able to interpret Engineering drawings with a good understanding of Geometric Tolerances.

  • Be able to work with the minimum of supervision

  • Good communicational skills, both verbal and written.



The ideal Multi Skilled Turner / Miller will have the following skills / characteristics:



  • Recent experience of manual and CNC Turning.

  • Previously used Fanuc or Mazatrol controlled Hitachi and or Mazak CNC Turning & Milling machines (desirable)

  • Machined precision parts, gauges and master gears.
