SERVICE CHARGE ACCOUNTANT

£40,000 to £48,000 + BENEFITS

THE COMPANY:

We're proud to be recruiting on behalf of a successful property management company that is looking to recruit a Service Charge Accountant to join the team.

As a Service Charge Accountant, you'll be responsible for the preparation of a portfolio of Client Accounts, Preparing Annual Service Charge Accounts, External Audit, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Monthly/Quarterly Reporting and Assisting with Year End Reconciliations.

This is a great opportunity for an individual who has experience of Service Charge Accounts within the property industry and is keen to join a growing company.

THE SERVICE CHARGE ACCOUNT ROLE:

• As the Service Charge Accountant, you'll be reporting directly to the Financial Controller and be working alongside other Service Charge Accountant, each managing their own portfolio.


• Preparation of the annual service charge accounts and liaising with clients and auditors of year end accounts


• Producing draft annual service charge accounts, preparing accounts files and answering accounts queries


• Responsible for Service Charge Balance Sheet Reconciliations and analytical review of Income & Expenditure


• Producing monthly/quarterly and ad-hoc client reports and accounting analysis


• Bank Reconciliations for year-end accounts as required.


• Liaison with Property Managers and Other Departments on accounting matters


• Ensuring the integrity of accounting records and controls


• Posting items on the management system when reconciling service charge accounts


• Posting Accruals and Prepayments on system


• Responsible for the Credit control of own portfolio including issues reminders and escalating to legal

THE PERSON:

• Must have current experience as a Service Charge Accountant / Client Accountant or similar role, within the property industry.


• Experience of Service Charges within the property industry is essential.


• Good organisational, communication and analytical skills


• Must be competent with MS Excel


• Any experience of Propman would be a significant advantage.


• strong Client Accounting experience as well as property management knowledge.
  
  


• Accounting Qualifications are not essential for this role, so QBE / Qualified by Experience are welcome to apply, as well as, part and fully qualified AAT / CIMA / ACCA / ACA candidates.
