Job Title: Financial Accounts Assistant


Reports to: Finance Manager


Job Description:


The role of Accounts Assistant is to ensure accounts receivable are recorded and processed through a structured and well-kept system.

This role will report directly into the Finance Manager.


The key responsibilities, inclusive but not limited to:



  • Daily Banking recording.

  • Cashflow reporting and reconciliation.

  • Credit control management.

  • Complete Bank reconciliations.

  • Petty cash management and reconciliation.

  • Providing accounts information to internal departments.

  • Reconciling intercompany loan balances.

  • Generating reports at month end.

  • Assisting with Management at month end procedures.

  • Submitting ROS monthly returns incl.

    PAYE, VAT returns, RCT, Interstats and Vies.

  • Covering payroll when needed (covering annual leave)

  • Prepare for year-end Audit procedure.

  • Flexibility and annual leave cover for accounts payable as required.


Person Specification


Education, Training & Experience



  • Qualified accounting technician or equivalent.

  • 5 years experience in a similar accounting role.

  • Experience in the construction industry and advantage.

  • Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 beneficial.

  • PC literate with competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel) Outlook.

  • Knowledge of Sage 50.

  • Good typing skills.
