An exciting opportunity has become available for an ever-growing manufacturing business, based in Derby.

They are looking to add a Workshop Controller to their team, to oversee production of Vans, LCVs and HGV Trailers and reporting to the production manager.

We welcome applications from motor trade, body shop, vehicle workshop backgrounds and would like to speak with people in similar roles, or looking to make a step up to being a Workshop Controller.

Responsibilities of the Workshop Controller Role:

• Controlling the distribution of jobs to Bodyshop Teams, ensuring that times are allocated and work is completed satisfactorily within agreed timescale, and write-ups are completed to fully support time taken.


• Progressing vehicles through workshop ensuring the Production Manager kept informed of any issues affecting completion time or increased cost.


• Providing Quality Control feedback to teams and monitoring rectification


• Ensuring human resource is motivated, promoting quality and commitment, and identifying training needs of team members.

Key Skills we are looking for, for this Workshop Controller role:

• Have previous motor trade experience in vehicle body building, car or commercial vehicle workshop or dealership environment


• Show excellent communication & organisational skills


• Demonstrate a flexible approach to business needs


• Have an ability to demonstrate effective time management.


• Strong coaching skills


• Demonstrate a great team player mentality
