Valve Technician

Currently employing over 2000 people worldwide, this impressive engineering organisation has become a critical supplier to a number of high profile industries, including Oil & Gas/Energy, Defense, Utilities and Aerospace.

Because of continued demand of their products and services, this employer is looking for a Valve Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Valve Technician will include:



  • Working as part of a skilled engineering team, responsible for the overhaul, service and maintenance of flow control products

  • Using Mechanical Engineering/Fitting expertise to strip, dismantle, inspect, refurbish and rebuild units

  • Inspecting, diagnosing and reporting on the condition of units before advising on the best course of action to repair/refurbish

  • Occasionally travelling to customer facilities and off-shore to conduct repairs on-site



For the Valve Technician role, we are keen to receive applicants from individuals who possess:



  • IDEAL NOT ESSENTIAL: Formal qualifications within a relevant Mechanical Engineering focused discipline (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, NVQ/City & Guilds/BTEC Level 3 etc.)

  • Strong knowledge and working experience of similar products/equipment (Actuators, Pumps etc.)

  • A flexible approach to working hours, i.e.

    the willingness to frequently work overtime and occasionally work away from home



Working Hours of the Valve Technician:



  • 40 Per week, spread across a regular day shift pattern

  • Monday to Friday - 07:30 to 15:30

  • Overtime usually available every day and on Saturday mornings(2.5 hours) - paid at 1.33 midweek & 1.50 weekends



In return, the Valve Technician will receive:



  • Annual Salary: Up to £35,360.00 (£17.00 per hour)

  • Holiday Entitlement: 30 Days including public holidays - rising to 35 days with continued service

  • Pension Scheme: Up to 6% matched contribution

  • Private Healthcare (AXA)

  • Ongoing training & development (BOSIET, working at heights etc.)

  • Allowances when working away from home (£3.00 extra per hour) + expenses
