Assistant Finance Manager

Job Description:

Our client, a specialist investment firm, are looking to hire an Assistant Finance Manager to join their professional team.


The core responsibility of the role holder will be to focus on the core accounting requirements for client vehicles (both the Listed REIT and Unlisted Fund) including but not limited to preparing management accounts for client funds; assisting in the production of the consolidated NAV; contributing to both internal and external reporting including annual statutory accounts and bespoke stakeholder reporting.



Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified CA/ACCA/CIMA or education to degree standard with appropriate experience.

  • Experience within the real estate / fund management sector is preferred.

  • Experience of financial systems, including Sage Intacct accounting software and property management systems would be advantageous.

  • Relevant small or medium sized company/investment fund experience.



Core Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the following key areas: financial planning and analysis; management accounting; stakeholder reporting; and statutory financial reporting.

  • Prepare and analyse quarterly management accounts and associated investor reporting.

  • Proactive contribution to ensuring robustness of control environment and providing support to evolving business.

  • Supervision of finance team administrative tasks undertaken by finance associates (petty cash, expense claims, ledger maintenance).

  • Be a point of contact with a range of advisers, such as auditors and tax advisers, to facilitate the preparation of group and subsidiary financial statements.

  • Prepare the quarterly reporting to lenders, including supporting the monitoring and analysis of lending covenant positions.

  • Prepare papers for regular reporting requirements to various stakeholders including Executive team, investors and client fund Boards.

  • Benchmarking / competitor analysis.

  • Coaching and oversight responsibility for finance associates in their delivery of a range of financial analysis and reporting.

  • Contribute and/or manage ad-doc projects, as required.
