Pensions Project Lead

Job Description:

Do you have strong DB/DC pensions administration experience, along with project experience? We are working with a highly regarded financial services client who have an exciting opportunity to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an ideal role for anyone with a working knowledge of UK Pensions Market.


This role can be based in Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Birmingham.



Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Strong commercial awareness of the UK Pensions Market, with up-to-date knowledge of relevant pension legislation, technical developments affecting pension administration and industry best practice.

  • Previous experience of pension administration and of working on DB, DC and CARE pension arrangements.

  • Ideally, holder of professional qualification such as Associate Membership to the Pension Management Institute (or be working towards this).

    However, open to applications from candidates who could bring a knowledge of the UK pensions market from relevant industry experience.

  • Strong IT skills, including working with Microsoft Office applications and experience with the use of Pensions Administration systems e.g.

    UPM or similar.

  • Experience of working in a client-focussed role in pensions administration.

  • Good understanding of Data Protection legislation, the Information Commissioner, HMRC Limits, the Pensions Regulator, rules and regulations and recent legislative changes.

  • Experience in delivery of data projects is preferable.



Core Responsibilities:

  • Main point of contact for Managers and Project Leads for the activity of the team.

  • Allocating work to team members by managing capacity daily and ensuring this is delivered according to the correct process and service standards.

  • Responsible for preparation of fee and timescale estimates for work.

  • Making continuous improvements to service quality by identifying areas where service could be improved

  • Ensuring allocated work is carried out in accordance with BU guidelines, procedures, quality standards and service standards.

  • Ensuring the standard complaint procedure is followed by reporting all complaints and errors at an early stage.
