Managing Director, Food Retail - up to £160,000

This role is crucial for accelerating the company’s growth and optimizing its operations within the UK’s food retail landscape.

As Managing Director, you will lead the charge in crafting and executing high-impact strategies, identifying new growth opportunities, and fostering partnerships that drive both immediate success and long-term stability for the business.

We are looking for a results-driven leader with extensive experience in business development within the food retail industry.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to scale revenue through various channels, including franchise models and strategic partnerships, ensuring sustainable expansion.

Key Responsibilities of the Managing Director


  • Lead the UK operations by developing and implementing robust business strategies and operational plans.
  • Oversee the operations team alongside finance and supply chain departments.
  • Identify and capitalize on new growth opportunities, whether geographic or product-based, to drive revenue and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business partners, regulatory bodies, and customers.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor actions, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Ensure the UK operations align with global standards and industry best practices.
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture, mentoring and developing the team to reach challenging goals.
  • Implement operational improvements and maintain top-tier process and performance standards.
  • Manage financial performance to ensure targets are met and operations remain within budgetary limits.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by promoting company values and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
  • Take full accountability for business performance across the UK, including customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

The Ideal Managing Director


  • Proven senior leadership experience in the retail, hospitality, or FMCG sectors.
  • Fluency in English and strong leadership abilities across diverse teams.
  • Experience managing a franchise network would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and execution at a country or regional level.
