We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Housing Manager to join a team based in Ashford, Kent as a Senior Housing Manager, for a full time, temporary contract with an initial contract period of 4 months.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week minimum expectation in office to best supervise the team.

The Senior Housing Manager position will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement and ensuring that the services meet the needs of customers while fulfilling statutory duties.

This is a line management role and the postholder will lead and manage a team of technical and professional staff.
Requirements



  • Extensive experience in Housing - 10 years

  • Previous experience of managing a team

  • Understanding and knowledge of statutory, legal and contractual framework around tenancy, homeowners and shared owners' management

  • Great problem solving abilities

  • Previous experience of repairs, specifically council house repairs is ideal

  • Ability to build excellent relationships across the business with all relevant stakeholders

  • Be IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft office applications and ability to learn and use appropriate in-house systems

  • Be self-motivated, assertive and confident


Role Expectations



  • Lead and manage a team of technical and professional staff, supporting them to deliver services effectively and efficiently, and ensuring customer needs are met.

  • Provide advice and guidance within your area of professional knowledge and experience to contribute to the Housing Service team.

  • Proactively contribute to corporate aims and objectives, leading and managing the implementation of new projects and initiatives.

  • Support Housing Service Managers in aligning plans, strategies, and policies with council objectives.

  • Assist in developing annual service plans and programs of work for Housing teams.

  • Prepare reports for and attend various meetings and committees as required.

  • Ensure appropriate portfolio holders are briefed on relevant issues.

  • Manage the Housing service General Fund and HRA budgets in collaboration with teams and finance colleagues.

  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders and represent the council on key groups when necessary.
