Salary: £17 umbrella an hour

Duration: Initially 3 months

Hours: 37 hours a week

About the Role

The Personal Advisor will be responsible for providing high quality and effective social care support to young people and young adults.

The successful candidate will have a natural ability to develop trusting and supportive relationships with young people between the ages of 16-25 years who are living in or leaving care.

As a Personal Advisor, you will manage and monitor a workload of cases as directed, and ensure that statutory and service responsibilities are undertaken within timescales.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high quality and effective social care support to young people and young adults


• Develop trusting and supportive relationships with young people between the ages of 16-25 years who are living in or leaving care


• Manage and monitor a workload of cases as directed


• Ensure that statutory and service responsibilities are undertaken within timescales


• Identify the needs of young people, families and carers


• Implement service plans on the basis of assessed needs

Requirements

• Experience of direct work with young people, families and carers


• Knowledge of applicable legislation including the Children Act (1989), The Children Leaving Care Act (2000) and have a sound understanding of child and adolescent development and the particular difficulties and disadvantages associated with transition to adulthood for children in care


• A flexible approach to working hours


• Willingness to travel around the county and to other parts of the country when required
