Mechanical Project Engineer

My client, based in Devon, are a major player in the defence industry, whose products are sold to customers around the globe.

Due to exceptional growth over the last 2 years, they are now investing heavily in their expanding Engineering function and are currently looking to hire an experienced Project Engineer with a mechanical background.

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for capturing customer requirements and turning these into projects deliverables.

The culture in the company is very much team orientated and collaborative and they need a likeminded Mechanical Project Engineer to help the delivery of projects on time.

The work is varied and can offer some exciting opportunities to travel.

To be successful in the role you must have proven experience in a Mechanical Project Engineering role where exceptional communication skills and knowledge of Mechanical Design processes have been demonstrated, and knowledge and experience of complex moving parts and systems.

In addition to this you will need the following;

• 3D Cad skills preferably with SolidWorks, although adaptation training will be given.


• Knowledge of drawing standards including BS 8888, geometrical tolerancing, welding specification etc


• Knowledge of FEA Process


• Use of MS Project


• Good report writing and project information recording


• Engineering Degree in a relevant field


• IEng member of a relevant professional Institution
