A housing association are recruiting for an experienced Housing Officer to manage and support our tenants in the Northwest region, ensuring high standards in property maintenance, tenant relations, and compliance with housing regulations.

The Role
The focus of this Housing Officer role is to manage the housing management and health and safety of supported housing services across Preston.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:



  • Tenancy Management: Ensure all tenants have signed Assured Short-hold Tenancy agreements (AST) and are informed of their responsibilities regarding charges and services.

  • Maintenance and Inspections: Regularly visit properties to arrange and conduct planned and reactive maintenance checks, including Fire Risk Assessments and post-works inspections.

  • Rent and Benefits Administration: Facilitate Housing Benefit applications, liaise with the credit control team to manage rent collection and address deficits, and ensure rent variations and tenancy changes are accurately updated.

  • Tenant Support and Issue Resolution: Provide advice and support on tenancy-related issues, manage complaints, handle cases of anti-social behavior, and liaise with external professionals for tenant support.

  • Property Management: Oversee day-to-day maintenance and repairs, ensure properties are well-maintained, organize necessary repairs and services, and identify suitable accommodations for vulnerable adults.



The Candidate
To be considered for this Housing Officer vacancy, you will require previous Housing Management experience and be a strong communicator.

The role will involve community based work, so a driver with access to a vehicle is essential.

The role also requires an enhanced DBS.

The Contract
This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30, and offering a salary of £26,000.
