Fund Accountant

Job Description:

Our client, a global investment management firm are looking for a Fund Accountant to join their business on an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Reporting to the Fund Control Manager, this role will be responsible for the operational and accounting oversight across a number of Private Equity focused collective or segregated closed end funds and related vehicles.



Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Recognised, relevant accountancy qualification desired

  • Sound knowledge of current accounting practices and standards

  • Competency in Microsoft Excel

  • Private Equity or relevant asset class experience

  • Stakeholder engagement skills

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal



Core Responsibilities:

  • Mandate ownership: take ownership of an allocation of Private Equity mandates (predominantly UK based), which includes performing management account reviews, investor reporting oversight and ongoing timetables.

  • Valuations: in conjunction with the wider team, play a central role in the quarterly valuation process of the investments held by the mandates.

  • Treasury: monitor cash balances for allocated mandates to ensure that optimal level of cash is held.

    Initiating and oversee investor transactions when appropriate to action.

  • Statutory and non-statutory financial statements: coordinate and review annual financial statements for limited partnerships and limited companies in accordance with prevailing regulations and standards.

  • Mandate launches and liquidations: support the establishment of new mandates and co-ordinate the liquidation of existing mandate structures.

  • Continuous improvement: identify opportunities for improvement and implement with buy-in from key stakeholders.

  • Project initiatives: support internal and external stakeholders to address a range of requests and ongoing projects.

  • Ensure the operation of an effective control framework.
