Salary: £12.31 per hour (FTE £24,004.50)
Working hours: 15 hours a week 8.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday and Tuesday
(Including flexible 30-minute unpaid break) 
We are flexible to offer up to 18 hours per week for the right candidate.

Role Summary


St Paul's Learning Centre is a busy Community Hub in the centre of St Paul's managed by Ethical Property Company.

We cover 3 main lines of service: tenanted offices, sessional hire of training, meeting and creative spaces, and a public-facing community café/hub and public library.


The receptionist is a vital role, welcoming visitors, supporting our tenants and building users and assisting the rest of the team as needed.


You will play a key role in creating a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere and have experience of working in a multicultural community, with an understanding and empathy for the issues and barriers faced by such communities.

This is a demanding and busy role.

You will be juggling a range of tasks and will need to be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.


The Post


The Receptionist plays an important role in managing access, welcoming visitors and supporting our tenants and centre users.  It is a mix of both practical and administrative.
  
You will ensure the booking system is well maintained, up to date and rooms and resources are ready for use.  Weekdays are busy with multiple events, enquiries and inputting bookings.  You will need to be very confident with PC-based admin, software and systems.  This can be a fast-paced role, you will need to have good, clear English, be good at prioritising tasks, able to cope with pressure calmly and be able to assert yourself confidently.    


You will crossover with the evening Facilities Support Assistant and must ensure good communication and thorough handover. 

This post is line-managed by the Office and Services Manager 

  Your duties will include, but not limited to:
, Opening up, getting the building ready first thing for events and tenants
, Ensuring all bookings are set up and the appropriate facilities are available for the day's events
, Managing access and welcoming event hosts, directing them to the appropriate training room 
, Ensuring rooms are organised and safe between bookings and at the end of the day 
, Overseeing the online room booking system and inputting bookings
, Tending to online and telephone enquiries regarding training courses and services available
, Signposting to local organisations
, Acting as a point of contact for tenants' queries and communicating these effectively to the relevant staff 
, Managing keys to offices and meeting rooms 
, Helping to establish and maintain excellent communication with tenant organisations and room users
, Managing post and making tenants aware when deliveries arrive in the building 
, Assisting with administrative duties
, Printing and photocopying for room users and members of the public
, Overseeing car parking permits
, Tending to our SPLC Facebook page and website, scheduling social media posts and possible website calendar updates 
, Ensuring notice boards are kept up-to-date and relevant
, Other responsibilities include: 
, General facilities support, including keeping the centre clean, tidy, facilities stocked, the building safe, pleasant and services function smoothly. 
, Working to improve the services we provide to tenants
, Working to improve the company's social and environmental objectives 
, Taking part in relevant trainings 
, Attending company-wide events, such as the annual staff conference 
, Other duties as required, in line with the role
