Lead Production Engineer

Lead Production Engineer - Orpington - £50,000/year

This opportunity provides a link between Engineering, Production, Planning and Supply Chain and ensures that all products released to the shopfloor are ready for manufacture and test.
The role supports product development providing input on design for manufacture/assembly, overseeing qualification results and designing test arrangements and is responsible for process routing and production times.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for Process Development for NPD's & current products to meet business needs.


• Continuous improvement of existing processes and manufacturing practices.


• Coaching, developing and motivation of the Production Engineering team to achieve a high standard of performance.


• Working with the Operations Manager to create and implement strategies which meet business objectives.


• Provide input in NPD's and current product improvements.

Requirements:

• A graduate in Manufacturing, Industrial or Production engineering or equivalent in engineering or in a related field.


• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.


• Familiar with opto/electro-mechanical assembling.


• Training or Green Belt in Lean Manufacturing.


• Carried out production cell designs/flows/layout.


• Significant experience in NPI/NPD.


• A good understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
