Planning Solicitor

Service Care Legal are currently working alongside a local authority, based in Somerset, which is in need of an experienced Planning Solicitor to join our legal team.

In this pivotal role, you will provide comprehensive legal advice and representation on all matters related to planning law.

ROLE: Planning Solicitor

LOCATION: Somerset - hybrid

RATE: £55ph-£60ph

CONTRACT LENGTH: 8 months ongoing

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice on planning law and related matters, including development control, enforcement, and appeals.


• Represent the council in planning inquiries, hearings, and court proceedings.


• Collaborate with planning officers, developers, and other stakeholders to support the planning process.


• Attend and contribute to planning committee meetings, providing legal guidance as needed.

About You:

• Qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate.


• Significant experience in planning law, ideally within a local authority or similar setting.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of professionals and stakeholders.


• Commitment to sustainable development and the council's strategic objectives.
