Longevity Experience Analyst

Job Description:

Our client, a leading UK financial services firm, are looking for a Longevity Experience Analyst to join their team of experts in Longevity.

This is an exciting opportunity which will allow you to deliver high quality longevity research, thought leadership and analytics for use by the firm's clients.


Experience in data / analytics and comfortability working with R is essential.


This role can be based UK Wide or in East Coast North America


Essential Skills/Experience:

  • This role will suit someone with qualifications in data science / actuarial sciences or prior experience in working with mortality/longevity experience data in a commercial environment

  • Qualifications can be degree (or equivalent) or certified on the job training

  • Where a candidate is in possession these skills but does not have existing qualifications we will consider applications but reserve the right to conduct a skills-based exercise as part of recruitment.

  • Prior experience in working with mortality/longevity experience data in an insurance or pensions context is highly desirable

  • Extensive experience in data/analytical programming in R.

  • Extensive experience in problem solving within the data and analytical space.

  • Able to take initiative on projects and proactively seek guidance from more experienced colleagues.

  • Experience of working on complex projects to a strict deadline within a commercial environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines.

  • Collaborative team worker who is confident in mentoring less experienced members of the team.

  • Prior experience of longevity or demography.

  • Creative problem solver.

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Excellent communicator, both to specialist and non-specialist stakeholders.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Production of longevity experience analyses for insurers and pension plans

  • Identifications of limitations of the experience analysis data

  • Support clients in understanding how to appropriately use mortality profiling analytics and experience analysis tools
