Deputy Cleaning Manager

Deputy Cleaning Manager needed in Westminster area


Job Role


To provide direct support to the Cleaning & Waste Manager by leading the evening cleaning team from 2.00pm to 11.00pm.


Key Competencies:


Support the Cleaning and Waste Manager on leading Team Leaders and front liners (Place makers) to ensure that cleaning standards are met or exceeded.

The key competencies are (not limited to):



  • To comply with the company and customers health & safety policies and raise incidents on our central HSE portal

  • Carry out regular one to one's with their direct reports.

  • Manage time and attendance system checking for anomalies and ensure that the hours are accurately input and ensure works carried out within budgeted operational hours.

  • Ensure appraisals are carried out with their direct reports in line with Company standards.

  • Ensure all necessary processes and procedures are in place and adhered by the team leaders and front liners including the cleaning methodology.

  • Ensure all staff maintains safe working practices.

  • Ensure the delivery of cleaning meets agreed standards through the completion of cleaning schedules.

  • Ensure all reactive calls requests are responded to quickly and efficiently by the team leaders.

  • Support Team Leaders on developing and training new starters / operatives on PSO (Pure Space Office) cleaning methods / standards to achieve required standards of performance.

  • Train and motivate staff to achieve required standards of performance.

  • Responsible for managing conduct and poor performance on a basic level and escalate as necessary.

  • Attend off site & in house training events / meetings.

  • Provide guidance and support to the Management team on site.

  • Liaise with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Liaise with Customers and Clients as required.

  • Organise any additional cleaning requests and associated tasks when required and monitor periodic cleaning schedule.

  • Responsible for ensuring adequate consumables, materials and service are maintained and tracked accordingly.

  • Organise and keep all Back office paperwork adequately following GDPR principles.

  • Monitor online training platform (LMS) to ensure that all staff are completing the training's in a timely manner and feed the site Training Matrix tracker.

  • Monitor Risk Assessments folders and escalate any necessary updates.

  • Support team leaders on the preparation of the Team Brief meetings and deliverance of monthly Toolbox Talks

  • Manager staff holidays approval and feed the central holiday tracker.

  • Support the team leaders to organise covers in case of last-minute absences.

  • Conduct probation review meetings with new joiners and escalate concerns.

  • Monitor front liners (place makers) task cards to ensure the workload is fairly distributed.


Personal Experience/Qualifications/Skills:



  • Ability to communicate and write in English

  • Flexible

  • Able to work from 2pm to 11pm - Monday to Friday

  • Team orientated

  • Presentable appearance


Experience required:



  • Minimum of 3 years at supervisory level and/or worked in cleaning industry.

  • IT literate

  • Proven experience on managing ambiguity and conflicts.

  • Proven experience in developing and managing trackers


Pay- £25 P/H
