The role



With the establishment of a new Procurement and Supply Chain Management organisation, Fugro is embarking on an exciting journey to accelerate growth and value creation.

As a Sourcing Specialist (Charter) based in our Aberdeen office, your responsibilities will include overseeing the chartering of Third-Party vessels in the EUAF (Europe and Africa) region.

You will collaborate with a dynamic team of Procurement and Supply Chain Managers located worldwide.

Maintaining regular communication with Brokers, Suppliers and Owner you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the vessel market.



Additionally, you will play a crucial role in supporting Category Vessel Maintenance.

This involves defining, selecting, tendering and negotiating contracts with suitable Yards and subcontractors for Fugro's owned vessel fleet.

Your focus will be on ensuring an effortless customer experience, fostering strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating costs and crafting agreements that contribute to our overall growth.



As part of your responsibilities, occasional travel within the EUAF region will be necessary to meet with suppliers and stakeholders.



Who we're looking for:



  • A degree in a related field.

  • Relevant work experience as a purchaser, category manager, chartering manager or similar procurement or Supply Chain function.

  • Ideally previous experience and commercial knowledge in the maritime/offshore industry and familiar with BIMCO contracting rules and standard documents.

  • You will have commercial insight; You are able to think and understand from both the customer and the sales perspective, negotiate preferred terms with suppliers and weigh customer requirements against sourcing capacities and capabilities.

  • You have excellent English language skills both written and oral.
