Commercial Account Handler

This position will be working for a family friendly insurance brokerage which works with both large and small commercial risks as well as agricultural insurance.


Due to continued growth, our client is currently looking to employ an experienced Commercial Account Handler who will be looking for a hybrid handler/executive role, with occasional client visits.


Salary: £30k to £40k (dependant on experience) plus extensive benefits


You will ideally have over 2 years plus of experience within a commercial insurance brokerage with ideally but not essentially experience in agricultural risks.


About the Commercial Account Handler role:


You`ll be responsible for the account handling of both large and small commercial insurance clients as well as agricultural customers across a range of farming risks.


You will be a point of referral to more junior members of the team and you will use your expertise and experience to help with queries and occasional training/mentoring.


You will look to identify opportunities to grow the book through offering relevant cross sales and referral leads.

Main duties in the Commercial Insurance Account Handler role:



  • Dealing with insurance policy renewals

  • Responsible for growing our clients commercial and agricultural client base through new business / arranging policies for new clients

  • Be a point of referral within the team

  • Organise daily work to ensure compliance is met at all times

  • Liaise with Underwriters to help secure the retention of clients.

  • Identify new markets, schemes and other opportunities to help grow the Business


The skills you'll bring to the Commercial Insurance Account Handler role:



  • Thorough commercial insurance knowledge of at least 2 years is preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong customer service focus

  • An organised and effective worker

  • An aptitude for sales and new business is desired
