Title: Fabricator/Welder

Position: Permanent   

Location: Leeds

Salary: Up to £18.75ph

Working Hours: Days

 

I am currently working with a specialist fleet vehicle workshop who are now looking to expand their team with the addition of a Fabricator/Welder.

 

Requirements for the Fabricator/Welder role:

Main areas of responsibility:

- Undertake welding/fabrication repairs to varying types of commercial vehicles and equipment.
- Undertake repairs off site at customers/third party premises when required.
- Identify any further work required as job progresses and report to Foreman.
- Work within allotted timescales.
- Always ensure efficient use of parts & materials and correct repair method is used.
- Ensure work is completed efficiently to maximise productivity.
- All job cards and relevant paperwork to be completed correctly and to be legible.
- Demonstrate an ability to work safely alone when offsite following all lone working safety guidelines.
- General housekeeping within the workshop whilst ensuring your work area is kept clean.
- To follow all in house and 3rd party premises health & safety guidelines.
- To ensure all PPE is kept to a suitable standard and worn as specified within site rules.
- To request training and support to aid personal development.
- To accept and respond positively to feedback.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience for the Fabricator/Welder role:

- Welding/fabrication recognised qualification (Essential).
- Municipal vehicle experience (Preferable)
- Mechanical knowledge (Preferable)
- LGV class 1 licence (Preferable)
- Ability to communicate at all levels.

This will include the ability to: -
- Seek and act on feedback on completed work and overall performance.
- Request information on products as and when required.
- The principles of confidentiality when handling information and advice – what type of information and advice may be provided to whom.
- Commercial vehicle repairs
- Trailer body repairs
- Roof repairs

- Welding / fabrication knowledge & understanding.

Including:             

- Alloy welding
- MIG welding
- TIG welding
- Stick welding
- Luton van repairs
- Roller shutter doors
- Curtain repairs
