Duration: Initially 6 months
Hours: 37 hours per week (rota basis)
Rate: £17 umbrella an hour
East Sussex County Council are looking for a Residential Youth Support Worker to join their team based in Eastbourne.

The Children's Homes are respite and residential that provide high quality care to children and young people aged 7-19 years
As a Residential Youth Support Worker you will:



  • Provide effective day to day care and support in all aspects of daily living to the resident children

  • Keep accurate records of daily events and incidents

  • Contribute to the therapeutically informed care planning and risk management

  • Liaise with external professionals

  • Maintain and support effective relationships with families

  • Participate in a working rota designed to meet the needs of the service and contribute to positive working relationships

  • Undertake sleeping-in duties on a rota basis



Requirements



  • QCF Level 2 in English or ability to pass assessment at interview

  • QCF Level 2 in Maths or ability to pass a basic maths assessment at interview

  • Interest in child development and willingness to learn

  • Experience of working with children and young people

  • Willingness to travel to children's homes other than designated work base
