Laboratory Assistant

LABORATORY ASSISTANT | EAST HAMPSHIRE | Part-time, Permanent

Blackfield Associates are supporting a leading British manufacturer to recruit for a Laboratory Assistant to join the organisation on a part-time, permanent basis (Monday - Wednesday, 8 hour days).



Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the key responsibilities are as follows:

• Maintain and grow insect cultures, including cockroaches, flies, and stored product insects.


• Feed, water, and clean insect enclosures while ensuring strict hygiene standards.


• Assist in setting up and conducting insecticide and rodenticide trials.


• Record and manage trial data accurately.


• Ensure cleanliness throughout the lab and follow safety protocols.


• Maintain stock levels for insect cultures and lab supplies.

To be considered for the role candidates must have strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and multi-task and be committed to high standards of lab hygiene and safety.

A degree in a biological field of study would be highly desirable and prior laboratory experience would be preferable, but an awareness of laboratory work would be considered.
