Paint Inspector - Long Term Contract

An opportunity for a Paint Inspector with valuable knowledge of coatings and applications to work on a unique project in Sheffield.


Our Client is established organisation with more than 60 years engineering exposure in the nuclear Industry.

They have already engaged in the delivery of a wide range of high profile projects across the UK and on the back of this they have been recently awarded another multi-million-pound valued project.


Duties for the role of Paint Inspector :



  • Perform inspections and testing in accordance with the Project ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) and project Specification(s)

  • Ensure overall end to end compliance with Project Specification(s) and Client requirements

  • Recording of ambient conditions to ensure they are acceptable for required process output.

  • Ensure that material is stored and handled in accordance with manufacturer's requirements and data sheets are available, when required, material traceability is maintained and correct material used.

  • Monitor performance of DIS painting/blasting personnel, ensure Applicators are carrying out their works to the contract requirements and where required ensure that, equipment is in serviceable condition.

  • Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable, with in calibration period and personnel are knowledgeable in its use.

  • Ensure blast medium and coating materials conform to project specifications.

  • Ensure surface preparation blast profile/cleanliness meet requirements,

  • Monitor dry film thickness and re-coating intervals.

  • Ensure any identification marks or tags removed or over coated are replaced.

  • After the full curing activity conduct visual inspection and specified non-destructive and destructive tests.

  • Paint shop inspector must prepare daily reports on the work in progress.

  • Paint shop inspector may carry out any other duties as and when required

  • Responsible for timely inspection during painting works, proactive in the prevention of noncompliance and problem resolution.

  • The Paint shop inspector must liaise with Client QC for inspection and data output.



Keen to speak to:



  • Experienced Paint Shop Inspectors.

  • ICORR Level 3 qualified or NACE Qualified.

  • Nuclear/Petrochem/Oil and Gas industry background.

  • Live close to Sheffield.

  • A lucrative hourly rate of £30 - 35 per hour.
