Are you a dedicated Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) seeking a rewarding opportunity? MediTalent is looking for an experienced Theatre Nurse or ODP with scrub experience to join a prestigious private hospital in Norwich.

This role will primarily focus on the ophthalmology department, and full training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills for this specialty.

Requirements:




  • Relevant Qualifications: Must be a qualified Theatre Nurse or ODP.

  • Strong Clinical Skills: A commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.

  • Excellent Communication and Teamwork Abilities: Essential for effective collaboration within the surgical team.



Skills and Qualifications Required:




  • NMC/HCPC Pin Number: The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Pin for registered nurses/midwives in the UK, and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Pin for other health professionals.


  • Importance: A valid pin demonstrates registration and adherence to professional standards.




  • Demonstrable Record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD):


    • Ongoing Learning: Evidence of training courses, workshops, or conferences related to your profession.

    • Knowledge & Experience: Familiarity with operational aspects of surgical procedures and patient care in a theatre environment.





  • Relevant Experience in Scrub/General Theatre:


    • Scrub Experience: Assisting surgeons during operations and ensuring all necessary instruments are prepared.

    • General Theatre Experience: Overall experience in the operating theatre, including roles in recovery, anaesthesia support, or patient preparation.


  • Ophthalmology Training:


    • Training Provided: Specialized training in ophthalmology will be offered, welcoming candidates who are eager to learn and adapt.




    Potential Job Responsibilities:



    • Assisting in surgical procedures, particularly in the ophthalmology department.

    • Preparing the operating theatre, including sterilization and organization of surgical instruments.

    • Monitoring patients before, during, and after surgery.

    • Collaborating with surgeons and medical staff for efficient surgical processes.

    • Adhering to health and safety protocols in a theatre setting.
