Service Care Solutions has a new and exciting opportunity which has become available working as a Service Unit Manager with Tameside Council.


Tameside Council are currently looking for someone who is happy to work 37 hours per week.


About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Service Unit Manager to join the Tameside Early Help/Family Help team.

You will be responsible for managing physical and financial resources, overseeing service delivery, and leading the Family Help Teams.

This role requires leadership in quality assurance, policy implementation, and partnership collaboration with key sectors such as health, police, education, and social care.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage Family Help Teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

  • Oversee performance management, identifying efficiencies, and ensuring quality standards.

  • Collaborate with partners to develop responsive services that support families and reduce the need for statutory interventions.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and staff performance.

  • Contribute to policy development and corporate management activities.

  • Provide leadership in service improvements, staff development, and recruitment.


Requirements:



  • Degree in a relevant area and commitment to continued professional development.

  • Substantial experience working with children, families, and managing teams in Children's Services.

  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in preparing for inspections (e.g., OFSTED).

  • Knowledge of Children's Services legislation and inspection frameworks.
