Our client is currently in search of a strategic, results-driven and creative Director of Sales and Marketing to join their senior team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to drive revenue growth and elevate their brand presence in the market.

They are looking for an accomplished individual with a proven track record in sales and marketing within the FMCG sector, with strong leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset.

The Role:

As the Director of Sales & Marketing you will spearhead the customer acquisition and global sales & marketing function.

You will oversee a team of enthusiastic sales & marketing professionals and will direct your efforts towards great success.

Reporting to and working with the Company's senior leadership, the Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for overseeing the sales & marketing operation of the business excluding North America.

Sales & Marketing is one of the highest strategic priorities for the business and is seen as the major driver of future growth.

An excellent Director of Sales & Marketing is passionate for their profession, with the ability to balance a practical mindset with a creative business acumen and lead people through complex operations.

The ideal candidate will:


  • Develop and implement brand and sales strategies that align with the company’s vision and objectives
  • Focus on business development with hands on approach across new and existing customers across all channels including expanding international markets in line with the strategic plan
  • Manage and oversee the sales & marketing team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation and management
  • Set and monitor sales targets and KPIs and prepare and present reports and forecasts
  • Analyse and anticipate market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activities, and identify opportunities and challenges
  • Create and manage the sales & marketing budget and allocate resources accordingly
  • Establish and maintain long-term and profitable relationships with key customers, partners, and suppliers
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure coordination of sales efforts
  • Establish working practices, systems, and processes, and implement necessary changes
  • Ability to create processes and develop marketing strategy
  • Analytical, ROI-driven digital marketing mentality
  • Entrepreneurial edge, able to create solutions to new industry problems
  • Research the global market and provide clear direction for the future growth opportunities and positioning in each relevant marketplace

Key candidate attributes:


  • Proven track record of selling consumer goods globally
  • Experience in dealing with supermarkets and mass market general retailers
  • Experienced in restructuring sales teams and account handling
  • Can demonstrate examples of achieving sales growth in new territories
  • Provide examples of successful negotiation with senior personnel with volume retailers
  • Experience in integrating the sales account management and sales admin teams.
  • Provide analysis of the UK retail market in previous roles
  • Have extensive people skills with ability to influence and motivate at all levels
  • Will have excellent presentation skills with ability to handle and evaluate data
  • Experience in dealing with product development teams & supply chain
  • Full understanding of the underlying business cost structure and ability to build pricing models to achieve profit growth
  • Enjoy a hands-on approach with product and customers
  • Establish the marketing budget, define KPIs and report to fellow senior management on progress and ROI
  • Drive brand awareness through PR, social media and oversight of the company website
  • Partner with product development team to conceive, develop, and deploy value-adding product features
  • Self-starter, organised and motivated with the ability to define goals and prioritise
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven experience and success across all disciplines of marketing
  • Demonstrable experience of re-positioning a company in a competitive market, winning market share and driving bottom line profitability
  • Good eye for design and creative assets
